This is a follow up to a thread here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057738892

Basically I've swapped out and tried new ram, psu and graphics card. As well as a new cpu fan and thermal paste but nothing has worked.
The MB reads out 15 19 error and maybe flashed 10 before that it's hard to tell.
I've cleared bios, installed one stick of ram etc and get the same result.
I'm currently running an i5 2500k obviously on a lga 1155 board. My dilemma right now is whether I should just scrap both and upgrade to a newer socket or swap one out and hope it works.
Any advice would be very appreciated. Thanks

CPU was at end of life really anyway so personally start again, probably on Ryzen tbh. You should get another upgrade out of the same platform with AMD. DDR3 prices are going up at the moment I think so you might get a few quid for the RAM.

Ryzen 5 1400 and a B350 Motherboard will be do-able for that. The Quad-core 8 thread Ryzen's aren't the best value really the 1600 is where the very (like Sandy Bridge that you have) longevity starts as they're 6 core 12 thread. You can always drop in a better CPU down the line as AMD tend to stay on one platform for years. Get a MB with a 3 or 5 year warranty.

B350 Chipset does pretty much everything but SLI/Crossfire.

Alternatively it's the G4560 and Intel budget gaming nirvana for just over a €100, leaving you a nice chunk of change for a GPU.

If you're buying B350, just make sure it has a heatsink on the VRM (usually top-left of the CPU socket).

Ya I think I'll just bite the bullet now and upgrade,
    Thoughts on this list?

Memory speed is an issue for Ryzen so 3000+ is needed really.

I'd personally go for the 1400 and OC it but someone might point out any issues there.

Seems good, not an expert on the range of Ryzen boards but the core choices are good. I would stretch for an RX570 over the GTX1050ti, shouldn't be too much extra (about €40) and performance is much better.

The other option is to go 2nd hand, you can get a Haswell i5 for around €100-120, a basic H81 motherboard for €50 and re-use your old ram, performance would be around the same as Ryzen 1500 in games too and there's potential to upgrade down the line to Haswell i7, which still dominates Ryzen 5 in games despite its age and will likely last for years.

New though definitely the ryzen over the Skylake i5, they're similar in games now but Ryzen should sneak ahead over the coming years and already does in one or two CPU heavy titles.

Of course the other thing is that if the 2500K is still good and it's the board, a replacement board wouldn't cost much and the 2500K is still good for games especially if overclocked, so a new board (2nd hand I mean) + new card would give you a major boost.

Just to conclude this thread, This is the build I went with https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/michaelr93/saved/6d3TWZ
    Very much appreciated the help.
I'm thinking of just blowing my budget completely and treating myself to a 144hz monitor, CS is pretty much all I play and I feel it will make a big difference.
    Came accross this one, https://www.amazon.co.uk/AOC-G2460PF-Response-Adustable-Speakers/dp/B01BV1XBEI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1496579634&sr=8-3&keywords=144+Hz
Is there anything blatantly wrong with it?
It's by far the best deal I can find.
    Thanks again.

If you can fit it in any way an SSD (even a small one) would make a great job out of that computer.

I already have my windows 7 installed on a 64 gb one, It's probably too small but has done the job for the past few years. Really don't think I could go back to booting from hdd.

    Update:
Parts all came today and went together smoothly enough, but the thing won't get passed the windows 7 load screen. Instead I get BSOD, I'm using my old windows 7 loaded ssd. I've tried different ram alignments, different ram settings in the bios and nothing seems to work. I tried to fresh install windows 7 on the ssd but before it loads the menu for re-installing windows my m+kb die and have no connection in any slot. I'm pretty confused tbh with ye.
    Any advice?

Ryzen doesn't support WIn 7 though afaiu that doesn't mean it can't work. To get a new Windows 7 install going I think you will need to plug in a ps/2 keyboard: http://www.anandtech.com/show/11182/how-to-get-ryzen-working-on-windows-7-x64
