I was wondering if it is worthwhile growing Apricot from seed?, there are some nice apricots in the supermarket at the moment. For apples this is pretty pointless but are apricots different, am i likely to end up with a beast?

Curious to hear if anyone has any knowledge of this or tried it themselves.

I once germinated a peach stone and it grew happily for several years in a pot, but never flowered.
I think now, that if I had planted it in good soil by a warm wall, it might have done well.
I'd say apricots are worth a chance.
