Actually I have nailed it down to
    A)Lacazette/Jesus
    Vs
    B)Kane/Firmino
Interestingly A is rated higher on FFS

I'd go B, mostly because Lacazette is new to the league

After much debate, I've decided to create a team this year again after quitting a couple of weeks into last year's campaign!

Completely starting from scratch and know nothing about the newly promoted sides! One thing that I'd like to ask my fellow fantasy men is if you think Kane will get off to a slow start again this season? I believe for the last two years, it took him a coupe of weeks to find his feet, and it may be the case again this year.

Lacazette is a player I want to try out, not at all because I'm a biased Arsenal fan!

Strange question but do you all have an extra tab on your Fantasy football page for Rotoworld?
If so , what are they about??:o

They are an American website I believe. They specialise in all the top American fantasy sports like MLB, NFL, MLS etc. I was reading some of their articles last night, they provided some good tips in relation to the FPL draft game.

Spurs rumoured to have bid for cedrc
Would kill both him and trippier as fantasy options

Pied at 4.5 becomes a tasty option then.

I think I'm going to go with Heaton.
5.0 is expensive but his ability to get bonus points sets him apart from other keepers.

the potential lineups posted is ridiculous - it has a tonne of player1/player2 instead of just posting the XI they believe will get the nod

For some reason I've only started seriously considering Aguero today.. is it madness to overlook him if he's starting?

Not seeing a lot of Danny Simpson love here for a 4.5 mil starter. Am I missing something

Arsenal united Chelsea are 3 of his first 4

Will be a good option in a WC hopefully

it lets you know who's nailed on and who's not.

You could chance Kevin Long, he has an outside chance of starting over Tarkowski. Busts reckons he won't start but of all the 4m defenders, I think Long has the best chance of starting.

Failing that you could go for Rosenior, a player with previous PL experience and a relatively low ownership percentage.

my point is they have so many who are 'not' - covering themselves on every possible angle almost - i'd have more respect if they simply had confidence to put their predicted XI's. It's inevitable they'd get some wrong - but at least we'd be able to compare how accurate they were compared to predicted XI's elsewhere

    2 questions people:

    Aguero or Jesus?

Also, what are peoples thoughts on Gabbiadini? I currently have him in my team but has his pre season form been any good? I know he starts.

went with jesus myself in the end. i just think it's his time. aguero injury risk just gets worse with age. i don't want to waste transfers on him again this season.

i have gabby too. i want in to those tasty fixtures and he a decent pre season for what that's worth (not much).

What about doubling up on both? Have KDB myself at the moment but thinking of downgrading him and changing to Aguero up top.

We're often of the opinion that the promoted teams get off to a good start, so I thought it would be worth having a look at the first 3 games of the last 5 seasons for the promoted teams to see.

I know it's a very small sample size, ideally I'd look at 10 seasons and the first 5 games at least, but I cannot be arsed in all honesty and this might give early wildcarders especially a bit of help:

    2012/2013:
    Reading: 1-1 vs Stoke (H), 2-4 vs Chelsea (A), 1-3 vs Spurs (A)
    Southampton: 2-3 vs City (A), 0-2 vs Wigan (H), 2-3 vs United (H)
    West Ham: 1-0 vs Villa (H), 0-3 vs Swansea (A), 3-0 vs Fulham (H)

    Total: 2 wins, 1 draw, 6 defeats. 12 goals scored, 16 conceded. 2 clean sheets from 9.

    2013/2014:
    Cardiff: 0-2 vs West Ham (A), 3-2 vs City (H), 0-0 vs Everton (H)
    Hull: 0-2 vs Chelsea (A), 1-0 vs Hull (H), 0-2 vs City (H)
    Palace: 0-1 vs Spurs (A), 1-2 vs Stoke (H), 3-1 vs Sunderland (H)

Total: 3 wins, 6 defeats. 8 goals scored, 12 conceded. 2 clean sheets from 9.

    2014/2015:
    Leicester: 2-2 vs Everton (H), 0-2 vs Chelsea (A), 1-1 vs Arsenal (H)
    Burnley: 1-3 vs Chelsea (H), 0-1 vs Swansea (A), 0-0 vs United (H)
    QPR: 0-1 vs Hull (H), 0-4 vs Spurs (A), 1-0 vs Sunderland (H)

    Total: 1 win, 3 draws, 5 defeats. 5 goals scored, 13 conceded. 2 clean sheets from 9.

    2015/2016:
    Watford: 2-2 vs Everton (A), 0-0 vs WBA (H), 0-0 vs Southampton (H)
    Bournemouth: 0-1 vs Villa (H), 0-1 vs Liverpool (A), 4-3 vs West Ham (A)
    Norwich: 1-3 vs Palace (H), 3-1 vs Sunderland (H), 1-1 vs Stoke (H)

    Total: 2 wins, 4 draws, 3 defeats. 11 goals scored, 12 conceded. 2 clean sheets from 9.

    2016/2017:
    Burnley: 0-1 vs Swansea (H), 2-0 vs Liverpool (H), 0-3 vs Chelsea (A)
    Boro: 1-1 vs Stoke (H), 2-1 vs Sunderland (A), 0-0 vs WBA (A)
    Hull: 2-1 vs Leicester (H), 2-0 vs Swansea (A), 0-1 vs United (H)

    Total: 4 wins, 2 draws, 3 defeats. 9 goals scored, 8 conceded. 3 clean sheets from 9.

    Averages:

    - The promoted teams combine for an average of 9 goals scored in the first 3 gameweeks, i.e one each per game for the first 3 games.
    - They concede an average of 12.2 over 3 weeks, i.e. just over 4 each.
    - They average a combined 2.2 clean sheets (from a possible 9)

Sky Sports ordered last weekend for 9 euro - I'm back lads!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,254 ✭✭✭✭km79

    I'm done
I can't look at mine or any other teams any longer

All I'll have left to decide tomorrow is yoshida/Cedric/Stephens and I'll stick with yoshida once he is fit

    Gray /Mounie
God I'd love gabbi to be struck down with food poisoning or something else non career threatening to let Austin in

    Is Lindeloff expected to start?

Lacazette or another similarly priced forward? (thinking Morata, Firmino or Jesus)

Batshuayi is expected to start tomorrow (and worth a punt too) w/ Burnley so crap away.

Lindelof isn't nailed on. Expected to be Bailly/Jones as CB's.

He's likely to be on the bench. Mourinho is probably going to give Jones the nod to start alongside Bailly. Lindelof has had an awful pre-season and will need time to adjust to the Premier League. He only turned 23 last month so is still a youngster.

I don't really want to pick Lukaka. Gut tells me not to but ownership is scary. United didn't score freely last year. Im not sure much has changed but I guess feeling is when they score it will be Lukaka involvement.
