Extend Bus Route 102 to Howth Station

    Why terminate the 102 at Sutton DART Stn. It would make much more sense to extend the service to cover the Hill of Howth. Apart from this extension improving the service offering to residents of the Howth peninsula it would be of great attraction to tourists as the views on the route around the Hill are spectacular.

    It's probably historic. Originally the 102 was a feeder from Malahide to Sutton DART, long before the DART was extended to Malahide itself.

    The 102 then amalgamated with the 230 route which ran from Portmarnock to the airport. It's an incredibly long meandering route as it is.

    There was a bus route which traversed the hill from Sutton to Howth and back to Sutton the Number 88 which was taken out of service some years ago.

    Extending the 102 route by a further 10 mins would be a sensible solution.

    It would be handy for me. Terminus would probably have to be the Summit via Howth Village. It is a long one but nice if you're back from travelling and not in a rush home.

    The 88 bus was briefly revived as the 31C but didn't last long.

    Plus it'd make no difference for those who use it at Sutton station because it always departs before anyone on an arriving DART can actually get on it..
