Aye but if you look at recent Tour De France GC going into the final day a TT would have had about as much bearing on the result as the procession around the Arc De Triomphe, it's not often you get the stars aligning like this.

That's it. It was a victory for a nice guy that came out of nowhere. If Sunweb can get a team built for the GT's around him, he will be a perennial favourite along with the likes of who he beat today.

Well done Tom. An amazing 3 weeks. And definitely a hard fought and honourably won race. I've no particular love for any of the other top 5 bar Pinot; his day might still come though
