when a pro is starting off they are usually fed journey men to boost their record, but at what stage does it become farcical, and a health risk

    eg

    Tomas Mrazek w:10 l:62(22ko's)

There are some very famous ones that I can't remember off hand, like guys who have never won a bout.

    This guy's record is something - http://boxrec.com/boxer/004788

This is a great record as well, win your 1st pro bout...... lose the next 50 - http://boxrec.com/boxer/371522 :P

You would imagine with a lot of these guys that they are simply in self-preservation mode the whole time and take a fairly limited amount of damage I would imagine. They are also so used to it they know how to protect themselves.

Just found this one, the guy Lee Selby made his debut against - http://boxrec.com/boxer/3372

256 career losses, only 10 by KO. He won his last fight as a pro, what a way to go out :)

There are a good few of these lads on the British circuit. Kristian "mr reliable" Laight is another good example. He's on nearly every week.

They provide a great service to promoters but it's a tough way to make a living. The most of them can box well & are very careful not to hurt their up & coming superstar opponent.

they are basically paid to lose, Its strange how its acceptable in the sport. I mean they obviously cant win all the fights they lose but its not like they are gonna cause an upset against a new prospect even if they know they can, how does that work with the bookies?

Ya as above, they are happy that this is their job..They fight, they lose, the get paid.

They also obv love boxing, but it's their living, hence, fighting to make their money.

As bad as it is if they are being regularly passed fit to box then I have no real issue.

For winners there has to be losers, unfortunately in boxing losers (in this instance consistent losers) suffer a lot of consistent pain.
