Closing Joint account - both parties consent

    As your website states it requires both parties to close a joint account, can you please tell me why I today received notification via the following text message....
    "We have closed your joint account as instructed by the other account holder. Thank you, BOI"
    ???????

    Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

    In certain circumstances both parties are required to close the account however if there is a repayable to either indicator on the account we can take the instruction from one of the parties, a confirmation letter is sent to the address on the joint account.
