Hi, I have an old Samsung 5.1 surround cinema system looking to upgrade.

    Budget €500

I have 4K LG 60" on wall with concealed hdmi, ethernet, coax and quality speaker cables from TV to nearby cabinet.

Also have existing quality speaker cable to each corner of room for existing 5.1 setup.

One question I need to be sure of is how to get surround sound when using TV apps e.g Netflix. How would this be wired considering wire options above? I guess ARC (available on hdmi 2 input) or a non concealed optical cable are options. Any others ? What's best?

    Mostly movies but some gaming.

    Look forward to your advice/recommendations

    Thanks

    Hi Peppa Cig.

    Thanks for the post.

The best way is to use the ARC HDMI. This will allow you to get Dolby Digital were possible for 5.1. Optical can also do Dolby Digital but you may as well use the cables you already have in the wall (Provided it is an ARC compatible HDMI).

Are you looking to replace both your amp and speakers?

Perhaps something like the Yamaha YHT1810 priced at 329.99 Euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200708-yht1810.aspx

Or maybe the Yamaha RXV381 paired with the JBL Cinema 510 priced at 468.99 Euro
    https://www.richersounds.com/package/system-savers/home-cinema-separates-bundle-deals/pah013574

or again the RXV381 with the Canton Movie 75 pack priced at 528.99 Euro

Let me know if any of the above might suit.

Any questions please drop me a post.
