Wondering if anyone got on this panel last year? The other half applied for this but didn't get through so wondering if anyone would be able to give tips so that he is prepared for it this year or next year if they run it again

Ive been on a few of the Council Interview panels , not Donegal tbh, but they are generally the same ..
They want to know about work experience , especially in connection with health and safety aspects ie, can someone use a con saw without the ticket, responsibilities of employer and employee, know what a safe system at work plan is, risk assessment for digging a trench etc .
Might be no harm to know a bit about the county, size and population, no of areas the county is broken into by the council ..should be on the website, another common Q is what is the budget for the County ..
Some people will say its only a general operative interview , this shouldn't be asked , but you have to show interest in the job and show you did a bit of research about the Council .. at the end of the day its a competition, successful person has to beat everyone else, who didn't bother doing any research ..also no harm to push saying you're a team player , and work well with other people . give a few examples .. some people who go for these jobs are v good, but they don't say enough and sell themselves short .. best o luck

Thanks for that but he never got shortlisted after application form. So I'm trying to find out what he should be emphasising on as he has over 16 years experience.
