Hi Folks

I'm looking for advice on how best to cut back a cyprus hedge. At the moment the hedge is about 3-4m high and I want to cut it back by about 1m. Whats the best method to do this so that I don't end up destroying the hedge.

My gardener is recommending cutting the hedge back and then sloping the top of it so that I don't see the top of the hedge from my house as the top will be dead and blackened. There is a field the other side of the hedge so no worries that the neighbours will be complaining.

Any advice appreciated
