Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
I have a question about getting the UK freeview channels in Ireland (north Dublin area)

I currently have my samsung smart tv set to the UK Region and its actually getting the full channel list for the uk!!! (incredible!!) and even the names of the programme currently playing!!!!
    but the signal is scrambled.

Could any technologically minded people out there advise how I unscramble this signal?
I am not allowed to install a satellite as I live in an apartment run by a management company etc...

Is there an indoor aerial strong enough to get these channels, or perhaps a special decoder?

If you can only use an aerial, why are you posting in the Satellite forum? Try the Terrestial forum.

Hi Kris, yeah I posted there too, I thought maybe people with knowledge of satellites might know too

If you live near the border you might be able to pick them up on an aerial, no chance if you don't.

Talk to someone that sells the freesat boxes , or if you have broadband maybe mobdro / chromecast .

The signal is not "scrambled", it is not strong enough to overcome interference.
A substantial external aerial might work if your neighbours have such aerials, more likely the only way forward is a satellite dish, in which case this would be the forum required.

If you have a balcony facing south you might be able to use a small camouflaged dish, or even a flat panel sat receiver whose appearance would not raise questions.
