Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    That's some light yellow card.

Juve have been the better side since they got the goal.

They were probably the better side before their goal too, Real are just really good at making an attack count.

Pitch isn't great at all - looks boggy.

Perhaps there's a leek in the roof?

I reckon it's probably something to do with the amount of rugby played here, the ground seems to be cutting up very easily under players feet.

Juve have shaded this 1st half but game very much in the balance.

And thats why Casemiro is a defensive midfielder :D

2 goals in 2 champions league finals for Mandzukic.

Compelling viewing, madrid having to do more to open up juve but are controlling the midfield.

Yep Juve have edged it for me. But it's too tight to call who'll win it. Great 1st half.

One of the best goals I've ever seen, it was a thing of beauty.

Excellent game of football so far.

Both teams believe there the better side and playing with full confidence.

I love the way Steve McManaman refers to Ronaldo as Cristiano constantly.

It's almost like he's trying to convince everyone that he's best pals with him.

Great stuff so far. It's even better than the Europa league final.

Super first half, more of the same (with Juve getting the win please).

One of the best openings halves on any final in a long time. Great game.

It's a common thing in sports among the greats to be fair. Lebron, Kobe, Tiger etc..

In America. Nobody ever refers to Lionel, Diego or Franz. Or, usually, "Cristiano". It's weird.

Big respect to Keylor Navas for diving in such a theatrical manner to make the goal look even better. Always looks better than having the keeper just stand there and watch the ball.

Yeah. But nobody in soccer refers to him by his first name.

what you point out is generally an American thing

Maybe when people say Ronaldo he's inclined to think of the Brazilian one and Cristiano just makes more sense to him. He was still at Madrid when the Brazilian signed sure :p

2 goals in 2 champions league finals for Mandzukic.

    Big game player.

    Absolute world class.

It doesn't really have a history in football, gets a bit annoying after a while.

Carvajal might need replacing here, he has been appalling right through that first half before the yellow, especially around the goal.

Second half will be interesting, RM will have the legs on them but if Zidane needing to make a decision or two in a big game might expose a bit of a coaching gap here.

Each club only got 18k tickets for a game attended by 66k. That's disgraceful and why I dislike modern football more and more by the day

16/1 first goalscorer, frustrating, of course he gets the 2nd:D

I don't think Cristiano is weird. I've heard him called that hundreds of times. You never hear 'Ronaldo' in Spanish commentary. I've heard Cristiano hundreds of times so it's not like Mcmanaman is the only one. Look at social media as an example.

Depends on the name maybe? Michael Jordan was rarely ever called 'Michael'.

Not true - apparently they handed them back when they heard Black Eyed Peas were playing.

The rubbish ref could decide this game with a dumb sending off.

Only for Madrid I feel. Juve getting outrun all over the field, only one winner

Would have been nice to see the shot without the deflection. I'd reckon it has a decent chance to snap the crossbar if it hit it.
