    yes passed aswell, decile 9

  • Registered Users Posts: 72 ✭✭BMW22

Finally passed my elective! All done and dusted thank god. Congrats guys and for those who didn't get it try and persevere. It took me 3 times for elective but oh was it worth it in the end

  • Registered Users Posts: 20 dakerrymo

Delighted!!! What a wait! Anyone know what this decile and sufficiency thing in Elective is about?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8 Lou88

The decile indicates where u fell within the population that sat that paper..so if u get 4 u are in the top 40%

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 944 ✭✭✭s15r330

I got sufficiency of 3 in elective. Is that even close?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2 Apm again

0 is pass so 3 is not bad at all. It goes from 0 to 10 being the worst

I got a sufficiency of 1 last year in elective, sat repeat in January then got a 2... I sat all xmas studying and I don't know was the stress of it being so close worth it. Definitely have a good think about it and do what's right for you. August was not long coming around again I'll tell you that

That means the pass rate is high again for this sitting! Well done to all, it was only a few years ago we had the dark years of 2011 to 2014 where both CAP2 and FAE were hovering around 50% of students passing each sitting. Like a nightmare that would not end for aspiring Chartered Accountants!

Great time to qualify aswell, plenty of jobs there at decent salaries.

    Enjoy your day all!

So what does sufficiency mean? I failed the elective I got sufficiency of 1. I'd like to see the break down of B.C./ C's

Will you appeal ? Believe 1 is borderline and in the same boat myself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 635 ✭✭✭heretothere

I honestly don't know because I don't know what it means!! I appealed a CAP 2 I had gotten 48% on to no avail so probably no point

you could have a chance, they reverse a couple each year. Try and make a relevant case about a specific answer that you interpreted differently.

I passed core but failed elective.. I got a decile of 10, anyone know if that would stop me repeating in Jan?
Confused by the whole results interpretation!
