Long story short , moved back to the house i had rented out , to find 4ft high weeds etc , tenants done f all to the garden so now im left to sort it out , my own fault probably , anyway What can i do to this to get grass to regrow ? I cut it right down and there was like small tree type weeds , big thick fookers

Rake the surface to open it a bit, spread lawn seed and rake again to cover.

Then when the grass starts give it a wee feed.

Keep it mowed.

Next year use a weed and feed, keep mowing regularly.

you'll need a bigger digger than that to fix the garden.
