We're 1/8 to lift Sam in a few weeks. Jeebus that's short for an All Ireland final.

Too early to put up the bunting ?

    It’s incredible.

Tyrone were at 8/1 before their semi. I’ve lumped on that for the lay value expecting them to go down to maybe 3/4 - 1. Hope it should balance out a bit in the next few weeks but the bookies are obviously expecting a hammering should Dublin win.

You're some class of an eegit if you ever took it down from last year.

What were you thinking? It's yet another All Ireland final. Not a visit from the pope. :D

    .

Mayo will have 2 pope's visits and still no A.I. These fella's are losing their influence.

I can't see Small losing the jersey. Especially not when we're playing Tyrone. He brings a tough edge to his game that Eric Lowndes doesn't. We'll need every morsel of that toughness against this shower.

We'll need a bit of tough leadership at the other end too. One of Tyrone's annoying traits this year has been the targeting of the static free taker with encroachment. Not just the verbals but the parallel runs.

Galway tried it with Deano as well.

Flash Jack the Jack half-back [sic] is coming up on OTB next.

Lol...anyone who is able to put Deano off his stride, should be given an A for effort and an automatic All Star. If the best defender in the country (and his trusty GPS) weren't able to do it in the dying minutes of a tied All Ireland final, good bloody luck to anyone else that can.

Bet me to it. Maybe its the defender they need to throw at him, not just the gps??

Maybe they've been sending the Pope to the wrong shrine all along & The Third Secret of Fatima is what Mayo have to do to win an All Ireland. Do Ryanair fly to Fatima? :P

We covered that angle in 2016. How do you think we managed to push ye to a replay?

Have to say the OTB coverage is great, every day full new content and discussion. Every evening after work, when the wife and baby are in bed I’m OTB bingeing,Could be worse I suppose!!! :P

    Used to be better.

Too much golf. In fact, a second of golf is too much golf.

I find their GAA coverage bland and unoriginal. Anthony Moyles ffs. The Kildare fella doesn't like the Dubs much either so he sets a tone i don't like as a Dublin supporter.

The Rugby guests are good and Andy Lee is brilliant on Boxing though.

Tbh I like when Horan is on and then there's usually a second lad from a competing county in the case of last night it was Brian McGuigan. And as Nathan was compering the convo it made sense. They do that stuff well.

Agree on rugby and boxing though. Andy Lee is superb.

That’s what I mean, the variety of guests and speakers keeps it interesting, only so much Spillane and Brolly re-runs you can sit through.

Yes Ger Gilroy, I was a huge fan of newstalk back when they covered the Dublin games with Val Andrews.

I can't take to Gilroy at all anymore.

I've no issues with Horan etc being biased but Gilroy has little objectivity with his sly digs here and there.

He was great before 2011, he was the best on the radio then imo.

They all are. Reading the papers and talking about this "piece" and that "piece" always cracks me up. Intellectual snobbery when they're ****ing barstoolers like the rest of us.

I see James Madden has signed with an AFL club. Apparently he broke a couple of records. Best of luck to him.

Was at Parnell Park yesterday evening for a meet the players open evening. Fair play to them, they were there for 3 hours signing shirts, programmes, photographs etc. Most of the main names were there and my kids got to meet them all. They were on a high still this morning.

There was 1 player there who no one I asked seem to know who he was. And he's not on the Dublin GAA player profile page. Tall, tight hair cut but fair haired, early 20's. He had the initials AB on his top. Who that?

    Alan Brogan? :D

Horan is the best analyst in the game I would say. Never looks for any controversy and plays it straight. .

Of course the lack of soundbites does him no favours but there's much much worse out there.

Mossy Quinn has been decent the few times I've heard him on OTB

    Andrew McWhatsHisFace?

Could he be one of the U21's, recently drafted in?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,670 ✭✭✭jay0109

Andrew McGowan. Nope, he was there alright and recognised him as he came through the line.

I checked the U21 team from last year based on your mention above...it's Aaron Byrne of Na Fianna

    thanks

It also showed that I have spent 2617 Euro on my tickets.ie account on mostly Dublin ST tickets. (The rare gigs I've gone to that I bought tickets for would amount to about 200 of that max). I can't afford prawns anymore!
