Its scary what Dublin can call on. At best Mayo can hope for a draw the first day but that's a best case scenario. If it goes to a replay it will probably play out similar to last year.

Dublin's bench will win this AI imo.

    Scary to who?

To anyone facing them. How many players with All-Irelands can we call on off the bench?
1-15 Mayo can match their 1-15.
But their bench is very impressive, anyone would have to concede that. I don't see us having the same quality coming on, unless our subs play the games of their lives.
The Dublin management know this. They only have to bide their time and stay in the game until the last 10 or 15 minutes when they can empty the bench.
So far Dublin have strolled through the championship. Mayo will be their first big test. But they have the strength in depth to deal with it.

On paper, Dublin have every possible advantage so I'd be shocked if they didn't win.

2.) Conor Loftus fairly changed games for us. As did PAddy durkan. Shane nally is excellent, and allstar defender Ger Cafferkey. - That will be enough for us, as dublin will have too many players sent off

    Brucie Bonus: Stephen Coen

Durcan, Coen, Loftus are three serious impact subs for us.
I'm happy enough that there's a couple more there to do a job. They mightn't be impact players (Caff) or may lack having been tested (Nally) but we've also got some strong "runners" that are well used to their role by now (Conor O'Shea, Drake).

There's no comparison in the benches but there's a limit to how much it will come into play.

A few early injuries / black cards for Dublin backs would be a big boost for Mayo. Any black cards for us early in any position and we're in a bit of trouble.

In the last 5 championship meetings between the sides, Dublin have won 3 and Mayo have won 2. And Mayo and Dublin have drawn 4 times in the championship, 1955, 1985, 2015, 2016. 2015 replay aside when Mayo lost their entire midfield, there's rarely been a kick of the ball between the teams. So its not as if its been a one sided rivalry.

Granted though Dublin will probably walk it this year given their bench.

You have actually included seven and gone back to 2006 to find a balance. The 2006 result is of zero relevance being so far back. Even the 2012 victory for Mayo is before Jim Gavin.

If you are that much into the aul stats, here is another one for ya. Mayo have played Jim Gavin's Dubs tens times. Mayo haven't won a single game. They have lost 8 games and drawn 2 games. Surely what this Mayo team have done against this Dublin team, is of far more relevance than games that took place back in 1955, 1985?

Yeah, league doesn't count. If you're from Mayo. :D

Am dang sure, you'd have a different opinion, if you were on the good side of a few 10 pt league paddlin's.

Fact remains....Mayo have taken on Jim Gavins Dubs 10 times, in different weather, in different conditions, an different times of the year, in Croker, in Castlebar...and they have yet to crack Jim Gavins nut. (Ok, that sounds weird.) Are you seeing a pattern here?

Patterns are there to be broken...
    Semi finals are for winning...
    Nuts are for cracking...

(We're all reading "Brainwashing for Dummies by Jim Gavin" down here at the moment)

Yerra, the league doesn't count. We only get going in August.

(We're reading more than one book.)

    Ah, yer not Dummies.

Slightly confused and bewildered at times.

    Occassionally quite muddled.

    Downright perplexed the odd time.
(Usually when there is a full moon, Aido's gotten a new hair do, or you are changing managers. Again.)

But you're not stupid. At least most of you aren't. :D

Hang on now a minute Croagh Patrick is in Mayo. This is massive advantage that Mayo have over Dublin. All those pilgrimages prayers and holy candles are priceless.

    Money can't buy those....

In regards to Dublin's funding seems Mayo had more than their fair share. In 2016 they spent €1632448 and a whopping €752132 increase from 2015.

As mentioned there was a carry over of 150,000 euro from last year,2 All Ireland hurling finals, nine championship games already.

Dublin's expenses for travel and subsistence would pale into insignificance when compared with those of Mayo. Not forgetting four overnight stays thus far for the games in Croker and possibly more.

    Mea Culpa:(

I dread to think what the final total will be for this year, these level of expenses are totally unsustainable.

You cite four draws to bolster the argument that it has not been a one-sided rivalry but neglect to mention that Dublin won all four replays.

    My ears, they bleed.

How did they persuade Martin Scorsese do direct the video?
