Same with the motorbike spaces that has a car sticking out of it when there's plenty of free spaces down the aisle beside it.

The motorbike spaces in LV are completely useless and were clearly 'designed' by someone who's never been on one in their lives.

For starters, too narrow for a bike with panniers.

    Nothing whatsoever to lock to.

Stupidly far away from the entrance, which is bad not from laziness but because there is no footfall in the area to discourage theft attempts or casual vandalism.

I've never seen a single bike use one and would never myself.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

No offence to Hyundai owners but the Traffic Corp should have proper high powered high quality cars that have been adapted for traffic duty.

It's those that are a bit slow to drop from 100kph to 60kph that should be more worried I reckon :o

They are high powered sure they're diesel....

They run on devil juice and are bog standard.

Mondeo 2.0 petrols will be well missed I would say.

    €€€€€€€€€€€.

High powered car means more money then the driver needs to be retrained to drive it and coz he now has a higher powered car that means more responsibility so then he wants more money

The one place I'm always cautious of.

    Especially in the truck.

Wonder how they copped the Volvo? Three piece disc holder in the windscreen?

I guess they simply checked the number plate to see find it was fake and then potentially the vin to show where the car was actually registered?

To be honest I'd nearly be suspicious if I saw it with the EU sign on the end of the plate also - very rare to see that. While it's technically correct, the vast majority of UK motorists don't bother and so it just looks kind of wrong when someone does!

Very odd as most UK cars would have a blank windscreen and would receive no more than a cursory glance.

It's all about the people in the car ;)

Is it really that odd? There could be any number of reasons why/how it was noticed, it could have been an ANPR alert or the car was stoped for any number of reasons and then it was coped (pardon the pun).

I'm sure the realisation that it was an Irish car only happened following further investigation.

    What's wrong with Hyundai?

They are all adapted, they are extremely reliable, they are efficient and are powerful enough for the job they have been assigned to.

Gardai do also have other vehicles including Q7s.

Its pure brand snobbery. But some fools will pay over the odds for a badge on a car.

Most cars in Ireland are slow as sh1te, so a Hyundai will do just fine.

Got caught around there coming from the west a few years ago by a bike cop.

There was a guy based in the Bandon traffic corps used to come up to that spot, not sure was it Robocop though.

Which side were you caught on? Going to or from the viaduct?

Nct 9 years out of date = at least 13 years old, 4 ncts would probably cost as much as the car.

Should the gardai be advertising that you can drive around for 9 years with an out of date nct?

I believe they were showing that you cannot

But they did for 8 of those 9 years. I don't think I'd advertise it.

Hmm, speeding is speeding. But 137 on a road which is almost motorway standard isn't exactly jaw dropping stupid, particularly if they were southbound.

100 is the limit, in good conditions.
If the road is wet you should go slower.

Doesn't matter what your opinion of the road is. Traffic needs to flow together.

It's an S. If you look really closely, you can see where the break in the curve on the bottom left arc of the character is slightly protruding from under the covering shape ;)
