    Hi Guys,

i am interested in purchasing the above unit but i was wondering if my speakers from my existing 5.1 system which are connected by the crocodile connections would work including the subwoofer if i attached banana plugs to them, if yes, what speakers would you recommend to bring me up to the full 7.1 layout?

Also do you have any plans to stock the new Optoma UHD60 Projector?

    Hi kenny111,

Your speakers should work so long as the resistance isn't too low or high (between 4 and 16 ohms should be ok). The Denon AVRX2300 will only take an active subwoofer so if your sub only connects via speaker cable you would need a new sub.

I would recommend upgrading your fronts and moving your existing front speakers to the side or using them as front presence speakers. The benefit of this is you would beef up the front channels and also have a better set up for music. I would recommend adding something like the Monitor Audio Bronze 2s to the front. They won the What Hifi Award for best speaker up to £400 and we are stocking them at £279.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David
