Steve Lennon unlucky there to lose 6-5 to a poor MvG.

Gerwyn Price beaten as well, looks to be on a downward spiral.

Well beaten at that. Mike Smith with the performance of the weekend against Dobey. Smith was in the very same situation as price a few years back.

    So uncompetitive today, boring.

3 good match ups for the 1/4s and Brown v MvG might spring a surprise so hope for a few decent games later.

Is the semis and fina on tonight too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Yes, all remaining rounds to be played tonight

If Wade keeps up the form he's in, he'll go close

MvG v Wright final again. Think we know how they always go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

    Yep, predictable as usual

Thought Snakebite was going to have a good run at him after checking out 161 to go 5-5, but he made a right balls of the next leg

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,464 ✭✭✭Ultimate Seduction

Getting fairly bored of the finals now. Did MvG go for 3 bulls there at one stage? Was only half watching

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,464 ✭✭✭Ultimate Seduction

16 finals between them, Wright won only 2.

    50-12 overall to Van Gerwen.

Maybe that AllyDuck guy was wright all along

You'd wonder if he actually believes he can beat him

Must be frustrating for him, apart from anything else there's. Big difference between 10k and 25k for 1st/2nd

One of the commentators yesterday said, that he was told by Wright - "Mvg told me after last week that I am the only one who he is afraid of plying"

Dont think that Wright made this one up.

I suppose with a bit of luck he could have won yesterday and last week, so not far off in fairness

Without Anderson in the field, those two seem to be well ahead of the rest

Wright was on 64 and I think he was going for D16 D16 but missed the next two. MvG who had no finish then went for 3 bulls getting two and a 25 probably to put Wright off a bit and it worked as he came back after Wright missed again for 79 and took it out. In the previous leg MvG threw Bull Bull and missed D16 so in 5 bull attempts over the two legs he hit 4 DB in row and a 25 that was a whisker away.

Going 5-1 up in a first to 7 and losing is nothing to do with luck

True, although that was a lot to do with MvG missing a load of doubles that he would normally hit ie MvG losing legs he should have won, rather than Wright winning them

Good to see James Wade back into the top 8. Having a serious year on the tour, and seems to be really enjoying it as well

Smith won the players championship today. Still a tasty 14/1 for the premier league

A good win alright, but there was no MVG!!!

Lewis maybe finding some form, getting to the final. He looks to have slowed down his throw a little to find more consistency. That, as well as, trying to put Smith off his stride.

Watched this last night - great BBC doc on darts (mentioned on here somewhere last week)

Amazing to see the huge crowds at the News of the World at Ally Pally in the 70's
Also the popularity of the game in the 1930's
And the story behind the Bristow-Taylor relationship

well worth a watch if u haven't seen it

Surprised he is allowed to compete over there as well as the UK in the same season. Can't wait to see him back here. Has he qualified for the matchplay?

Steve Lennon whitewashed rowby John there a while ago. Really hope he keeps developing the way he is. Played against him in an open last year and it's scary how good he is.

I see another d12 missed for a 9 darter, this time Dimitri van den Bergh in the Austrian Open last night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,518 ✭✭✭✭ArmaniJeanss

Its actually weird how often D12 is missed for a 9.
I understand there's pressure there, but the top players seem to be running at about 5%* hitting it when normally they are about 35% on doubles.

I've no exact figures here, just observational.

Wade knocks out Wright. First time in 50 tournaments that no Dutchman will be in the final day

Excellent!! Gyrwen price knocks out rob cross and goes through to the semi final. Hope he can win it now

Suljović started every leg with a 2 or 3 treble visit beating Gurney 6-1. His 1st 3 3DA in those 7 legs was 146.86. He was on a finish after 9 darts in 6 out of 7 legs. The other he was on 177. 1st 9 3DA was 126.10.

Suljović on fire in front of his home crowd, almost literally cos the sweat is rolling off him in bucket loads

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Some atmosphere there for the Suljovic matches, surely he'll win if he keeps it together!

Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price in the final. Guaranteed first Welsh winner of a Euro tour event.
