How did he play in the 2017 world's, world youth, q school and UK open with out a visa? Seems the visa only an issue since he went back to get married.

Apparently on a 6 month tourist visa

Entered on a tourist visa and stayed on to get a tour card in q school and didn't go back until after UK open to get married.
He then applied for a sportsman visa (he lives in Melbourne i think??) on the strength of his tour card as he's a ''professional darts player'' and had to hand in his passport with the application. Thats the reason he had to pull out of the world series event in Auckland. It's up to the British Home Office to process his application afaik so its anyones guess how long it'll take and obviously his prior record will be taken into account. Thats my understanding of it anyway

This kid is going to be a superstar. Didn't expect him to even play in senior competition for another couple of years.

Van Gerwen was practicing with Peter Wright before there game yesterday. He picked up peters darts for a look, had 3 throws, 180, 180, 141

No wonder he annihilated Peter, legendary.

Of the big TV ranking events, MVG is the current holder of the Grand Slam, European Championships and the Players.
Other players own the current Worlds, Matchplay, Grand Prix and UK Open titles.
That must annoy him, and probably makes the last 12 months his worst since 2012.

Spending a lot less time practicing since the kid was born last year I suppose

I've heard MvG say he doesn't practice that much as he tends to get to the business ends of most tournaments that's the best practice he could get.

Mvg comes from 8-4 down to win 10-8 v Whitlock, Smith from 9-6 down to win vs Rob cross ,3 ton plusses and a 99 finish in four legs,Ando and snakebite make up last 4

Smith v Cross was particularly tasty, some great finishing by both

The 3 bulls by mvg against Wright were sick

Final was a bit of a damp squib, fairly average darts by both players until Snakebite upped his game a little to get over the line

    He wasnt arrested,
Corey Cadby got involved in an incident in the crowd during the Brisbane Darts Masters. A picture appeared on social media, which showed that he was being taken away by the police.
The management of Cadby responded by a statement about the accident. ”Overnight here in Brisbane rumours are circulating that Corey Cadby was arrested after an incident at The Brisbane Darts Masters after somebody posted a picture of him being led away by police.”

”These allegations are totally untrue. Corey and his family where getting abuse from a very small section of fans. All of this was in front of police officers who were on the door at the venue. Corey’s wife was then physically abused which the police reacted on straight away.”

”Corey got involved in a slanging match with another person after this incident but at no time were any punches thrown by either party. The police once again intervened very quickly and they knowing Corey was a dart player led him away from the crowd to diffuse the whole situation.”
”Corey returned straight back to the players hotel. At no time was Corey arrested or cautioned.”

Hadn't seen that when I posted. Trouble follows him though it seems.

Real season starts now those exibitions are finished. MvG currently holds none of the big tournaments, can't see him lifting the GrandPrix either. His first real test of character. Taylor would always come back 10% better after a not so perfect year.

As said on the other thread, they had no choice after all the ladies entered the qualifier for the PDC world's. Jacklins wife included. BDO will now be a Q school failures organisation. I still don't think Durrant will try the PDC
