Chris mason wont do bdo worlds as he was doing it at cut price to help them out , then they tried cut it again , bdo board member goes on a forum to post his rates

Seen that. Mason wanted 1200 a day they were only willing to pay 400 a day. Nice little earner 1200 a day for 8 days

Kinda irrelevant really. They have the potential to earn quite a bit more. Many people in "normal" jobs would have daily rates not far off 1200.

I doubt Des is paying expenses so Mason would have to pay for travel, food and accommodation in London out of 400 quid. Wouldn't be left with much!

£400 is really not very much taking expenses into account.

In essence he is a private contractor/consultant not an employee. If he was an employee of the BDO i'd agree with you

400 without expenses is crap and when your doing it for 400 for bdo , itv will turn around and say hang on why are we paying him 1200 if hes doing it for 1/3 elsewhere

Remember some poster got laughed out of it on the world champs thread for suggesting she'd get a place..

I can see why hardcore fans may not like this, but the PDC and sky are absolutely laughing all the way to the bank with the publicity she has brought and will continue to bring. It's a complete no brainer in a business sense. $$$ talks

I was in a crowded pub last Saturday and everyone was glued to her match. She's been all over the internet and TV the past week or so.

I'd say her phone is absolutely blowing up for reality TV, chat show interviews, appearances etc etc

If you mean publicity, then she was, but that will eventually burn itself out after the initial Hype, and later down the line the media will move on to something else...its the order of things

What'll be interesting is if she qualifies for the World Series finals night, isn't that ranked? Someone who has no tour card could well end up on tv alot more than most tour card holders. Very unfair. More tv = more sponsors ect

I can't particularly prove it (I don't have to, we're debating).
My 'evidence' would be the mere fact that they are doing it implies that they believe sherrock is/will be a draw, for some combination of tickets/viewing/merchandising/sponsorship reasons.
The World Series stakeholders (PDC/Matchroom/ITV4) are not mugs and neither are they charitable organisations. The idea say that Hearn is doing this for PC reasons is obviously laughable. Barry tries to turn a buck. Sometimes his ideas bomb, more often they work.

As for the BDO etc, - I'm not sure what

has to do with her. The BDO is a disaster, we know.
I suspect anyway that whichever session she plays in this weekend will have gained a bump in ticket sales.

and if Fallon sherrock is such a draw why is the bdo womens world title not selling more tickets then, since she is a woman, in the comp, and the centre of all this publicity ?
I will tell you why, its not because Fallon won a game or 2 of darts...its WHERE she won it it, and who against she won.

If she had beaten bdo men, no one would have cared,as no one cares really for the bdo.
And this women beating men thing is not new either as we have had it countless times already this year on the challenge tour and past years on tv.
