Commentary said Merven fainted back stage after his game. Not surprising at all

I wonder how much tax is paid on that and is it to her majesty or the place he earned the money, or both?

Not sure, I remember mvg stating after winning 100k that over 50 was gone on tax

As someone who used to be a tax Auditor for Revenue, I can tell you that you pay income tax in the country your resident in so in Hughes case it would be the UK. They pay 40% income tax on the higher rate and 45% if you earn over £150k in the year. Not sure if they have PRSI and the likes that we have.

Would any of the players have themselves set up as limited companies to reduce the tax liability?

Yeah some of them probably do alright, a bit like the RTE presenters etc. You're still going to be paying a huge amount of tax on the any money you take out of the company as salary and the company itself would also have to pay tax on any profits it makes.

MvG struggled to get past a regional qualifier last night and just lost to Smith with an average of 88. (Eighty Eight)

He's been off latley, opens up the matchpIay.

Aspinal with another 100+ average on stage, I put the world's run and UK open down to fluke but he's consistently brilliant!

Price beat Anderson in the gruddge match too.

No problem getting up close to the railing as they walk on and as most people have a few drinks too it’s a bit of craic.

There’s a chance I’ll be near Barnsley for one of the Players Championship events, I’ve googled it but can’t see any mention of tickets.

Does anyone know the story on entry/spectating to these events?

    Tnx

As far as I know its by player invite only.. It's not open to the general public.. Each player can usually bring 2 people with them on the day
