Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    We're getting schooled here.

This has the makings of a massacre. Our passing has been absolutely shocking, it's no surprise that we're two down.

    So open at the back

We're getting destroyed. Pablo having a shocker so far. Leicester are just picking us off.

We're being thought a lesson here. Too many mistakes.

Not just Pablo. Klich has given the ball away cheaply several times.

And some people think we should be aiming for Europe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,905 ✭✭✭Seathrun66

Man City did this to us for 25 mins and then we took over. We'll establish ourselves eventually, it's just a matter of how far behind we are.
    I'd be delighted with 1-2 at half-time.

Costa couldn’t give a damn out there. Get Poveda on.

He hasn't since the start of the season , IMO. Really think Raphinha will be in there sooner rather than later, fitness pending.

Reminds me of the Hockaday era Championship rubbish we had to endure.
    Where is the passing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Should have 1 back there, the touch of old is back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭NuckChorris1

Bamford said that against Villa when he missed two he was certain he’d score the third. Here’s hoping that’s the case again!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,905 ✭✭✭Seathrun66

Anyone ever seen a successful short corner? Unsure why professional players still bother.

Last ten minutes much better and given Bamford missed two sitters, we could still rescue something. We haven't got Harrison in the game at all yet. I don't quite understand the role Shackleton is playing, he's far too far forward for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,070 ✭✭✭✭event

Id take Harrison off tbh. Has he even gotten the ball?

Get Shackleton and Harrison off, Struijk and Poveda on. Let's Klich get back to the no. 8 role where he is badly needed.

If no joy by 60, get Pablo off and Roberts on

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,015 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

We’ll have chances in the second half. Interested to see what Bielsa does now at half time. Poveda in for Costa a possible change. Roberts is the only other attacking player on the bench.

He could also bring in Struijk for Shackleton and free up Klich to try create something.

Yeah Shackleton is playing the Klich role and Klich the Phillips role and it’s not working against Leicester.

Worst passing I've seen from them in ages

I'm one of them. We're missing four major platers tonight, three of whom play for major international teams (Spain & England) and the other may soon be in the Brazil squad.

There's also 45 mins left. We come back and we're in the top four.

Big learning curve this year for the team.....and the fans! Our expectation level is very high, after such a good start. Its going to be a bumpy ride this year with great football mixed with the mediocre! We would have taken this position last year. Hopefully we well see Bamford 2020 second half!

Ah lads what's with the panic stations, we can't win every game, these are a top side playing us at our own game...

Take rodrigo out and we're very light up top, Cooper and Koch seem to be afraid of the rain defo doesn't help things.

Damage limitation now, scratch it off and focus on palace

Yep passing has been very sloppy, tackling has been poor and we're only retaining possession when there's no Leicester players nearby. Definitely changes needed at half time, and good to see Poveda coming on.

Nope. We've played most opponents off the pitch this season and have a resilience that may get us something. We don't give up at half time. That's not our way.

Have you seen Leicester’s injury list ?

Leicester have been more tactically astute so far

I definitely prefer a back 4 even if they’ve 2 up front. Feels much more natural for the players we have.

Yes, and they're not missing the pedigree of platers we are. Two Spanish internationals and one for England.

They've been far more astute as you say. Hope that fades for the next 45 mins.

I don't think it's panic stations as such, more disappointment because we know we can play a lot better than we have been. We know we're not going to win every week, but I think people would like to see them make Leicester having to work a bit harder than they have had to so far.

No need. We may not win but suggesting giving up ito focus on Palace sn't the way.

    Leicester looking worried. And sloppy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

Despite playing poor today, we managed to

-Create 2 very good chances for Patrick
-Gave one goal away directly from a mistake
    - Scored a goal from a corner...

Maybe my expectations have changed after our exile from the EPL, but I am looking at today's game thinking "there are lots of positives despite being behind"

I know we are missing players but thats part of football. Only 2 of them play regularly so its not like its 4 starters.

I think aiming for Europe is silly and way beyond us.

We do not have a consistent scorer.
Our keeper is a kid and he will inevitably have a wobble. His back up is a racist that no one wants to see playing.
We have the youngest squad in the league as well as one of the smallest.

I dont think we'll struggle or anything but top 6 or so? Nah, dont see it
