Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Complete neutral here amd I was late to that game - haven’t seen lots of replays, but was it not his knee that came off?

Roofe said it came off his arm. Not deliberate, but you're not alone in thinking it came off his knee, which is maybe what the linesman saw

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,015 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

Roofe was quite clever - he got his foot very close to his arm and it at least made it harder for the linesman to spot it.

It's going to be a frustrating season I think, teams are very willing to just sit back against us and hope to nick a goal.

Clark looks like a super player, hopefully we'll see plenty more of him this year.

Ayling out for two months, no word on Berardi yet. So might be seeing Dallas at RB for the next while

At least Douglas is on the way back, played an hour for the U-23s today

We seem to be picking up a lot of injuries. Maybe Bielsa is pushing them too hard in training?

I'd agree for a large part, but this was a n impact injury. Be more worried about the training if it was muscular injuries.

Woeful start today, letting in that free, but back level 2 mins later.

Early second half goal, howler for Wigan but will take it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,907 ✭✭✭✭Kristopherus

That Sam Morsy is a bit of a thug. 5 yellows already:mad:.

Excellent 3 points. And back on top.

Excellent 3 points. And back on top.

The performance was the most satisfying thing. We've been off the boil for a little while so good to see them playing like that again. Would have been nice for Hernandez to score at the end, the scoreline would have been a bit more of an accurate reflection of how much better we were.

Delighted with that, wish we were a bit more ruthless like earlier in the season though. Not sure how Wigan have such a good home record, but missing lots of players today I suppose

Alioski and Dallas are triers but really hoping for a couple of better quality replacements in January.

Also, Wigan tried their best to rattle Pablo, but no more injuries today!

No subs was odd, thought Wigan were gonna injure some players.

Deserved win, nice to be back top

Actually the training is paying off. Last season we couldn't hold onto the ball to save our lives, but this season we know who to pass to and have much more options going forward. This is down to training.

On that, I agree with the Dallas comment but feel we absolutely need these types in the team.

On Alioski - he gets a raw deal, while he is frustrating he is up there with the most creative players in the championship in terms of chances created. While he was out I think we missed him.

Now, getting Same back to the form he began the season is the big push. I saw he's getting a run with the 23s today so be good to see his reaction from that!

Poignant article on Gary Speed. I still find it hard to believe he is gone. He was my absolute hero as a young lad, I can still remember putting his poster on the wall beside my bed. He had it all. He looked cool, acted cool, had skill, strength, speed, jumped higher than anyone else, and was such a down to earth humble guy, I still find it upsetting that he struggled silently when so many loved him dearly.
    RIP Gary

Delighted with the season so far but we're going to have to bring in some players in Jan, that's for sure.

Just checked the championship table this time last year after 16 games. We had fallen to 10th place with 23 points. Wolves were topping the table with 35.

On tv a few more times in December/January. Wish the Stephens day one was, but the Sunday one will do fine. Holidays, pints, and football. Let's hope it hadn't gone pear-shaped by then

Nervy game so far, lucky to be level but getting back into it too

Lucky alright, hopefully can improve second half. How good are our fans, great noise from them right throughout the half.

Always going to be a tough match but WBA way on top so far.

Awful collapse in 2nd half. Some serious work to be done now & £s to be made available to get a scoring centre forward in January.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭NuckChorris1

Between the 4-1 drubbing last time out and the awfulness of the ROI team this international break seems to be lasting forever!! In the meantime Phil Hay and his whole paper have been busto and immediately bought out so all back to normal, Jamal Blackman is gone for the season (Heaton linked for Jan) and we're sweating on Pontus not being injured for Saturday. Small matter of Izzy Brown kicking a ball about for 45 minutes too for the U23 team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭NuckChorris1

BPF injured now too so looking at an emergency goalkeeper signing, although probably just choose between Will Huffer and Kamil Miazek. Pontus most likely going to miss the game too and Bielsa said he'll choose between Kalvin Philips and Aapo Halme for that spot. We just need to score 3 or 4 and we should be fine!

A much needed win today to get us back on track today. We were struggling to break them down until they had a man sent off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭Carcharodon

We are turning into the arsenal of the championship, that cutting edge seems to be lacking at times but good win to steady things

God but we're thin on resources. Fair play to the debutants

A clean sheet is impressive with 2 debuts at the back. If we can survive this month and next in a similar position, I'm sure there will be money made available in January.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

Good win to get, hopefully get a run of them now and keep in the mix. It's so tight though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,218 ✭✭✭NuckChorris1

Quick look at the fixtures suggests the next 7 games thru to New Year aren't too bad. Two tough ones in Sheff Utd and Villa away but others are fine. Then from 1st Jan onwards we have 7 tricky ones in a row - Forest/Stoke/Rotherham/Boro away and Derby/Norwich/Swansea at home. Hopefully we have Izzy Brown and Bamford helping out by then and Ayling back maybe. If we're top 2 in Jan we should be able to attract someone special to sign (maybe the Llorente on loan rumour might not seem so daft then).

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,312 ✭✭✭blaa85

That was a disgusting dive by Alioski.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Poor half, need something extra.

Alioski was idiotic to say the least. Stay up and he probably gets taken down for an actual penalty
