Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

L'Equipe are reporting tonight that Ranieri has agreed a two-year deal to take over at Nantes and replace the impressive Sergio Conceicao who has left to become Porto's new coach.

It's alleged the only thing holding up the deal is some silly rule by the French football governing body that you can't hire a coach over 65. Nantes expect the rule to be bypassed.

Great appointment for Ligue 1 if confirmed, and means there will be plenty of talented coaches in the league next season with Jardim, Favre, Emery, Bielsa, and Gourvennec to name but a few.

I saw this today and was very surprised but it would be good for the ligue 1.

There will be competition for the champions league places with PSG, Monaco, Marseille, Nice, Lyon and possibly Borbeaux, Lille and Saint Etienne.

Been following this news all day but still not believing it's true until the official announcement. Conceicao leaving was a real sickener (he managed to drag the club from 19th at the turn of the year to a 7th place finish), but this could be very exciting news for the season ahead...

Good move for him - has a great record in France with Monaco too from his two seasons there. Getting then promoted (winning Ligue 2 in the process) and then immediately coming 2nd in the league with 80 points, only behind PSG.

Granted he had a tonne of money to play with there, but it still needed to be done.

4.4m a year? Is that not huge money for France?
