Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Iveta the best of the night for me

Now I remember what the creepy singer reminded me of- the Rugged Island Song for Ireland entry!!

That MC Notn is just shockingly bad

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,679 ✭✭✭✭fritzelly

The Julie one seems very jealous that others are better than her. Between that and making excuses for her singing she won't go far.

Thought Barry was extremely bland. He should have stuck to what he is good at (country music) as the wind beneath my wings did not suit him at all.

Made my bed in the interval, had to take off a broken electric blanket, and put the spare one on, I like a heated bed...being single I have no one to heat it for me.

Iveta out.....has any non Irish person ever been voted through to the final on this show? Filipino guy and Canadian girl finished low last week

Can’t believe Iveta didn’t go through

Surprised Fionn got first place, better put Jake thru now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,373 ✭✭✭tonycascarino

Going to be a very poor final with nothing but dancers. Appalling variety.

Louis saying he would have saved Julie....

I’m actually going mad about Iveta, even the audience were booing

People seem to be voting for their neighbours only. If you're non Irish, you haven't a prayer

Well that’s just bull if you base it on his comments about both acts.

That was shocking....several utterly mediocre acts finished above her

I voted for her dammit! She’s in the country 10 years isn’t she? She mentioned all her friends and teachers in primary as well as secondary, wouldn’t you think people would get behind her. She’ll definitely be a wild card I’d say cos they want singers and well, she’s the best singer that didn’t go through.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,322 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

    A bit behind.
I liked flair, the main guy is excellent, the wee boy dancer is fantastic

Mc Notn....his face...he looked like he was gonna murder the judges.

The guy from cork was shocking as was the Celine Dion impersonator.

The young girl singing flashlight was really good, I am not sure people would know song though which wouldn't help her.

It will be a travesty if they don't give her the wildcard

Not sure what the Irish public's obsession with dance acts is either (they don't seem to have got the memo IGT is a variety show)

    This program is horrendous.
Bring back Score na n’Og. At least back then people were ok to just enter that and didn’t feel the need to go on tv.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,365 ✭✭✭Man Vs ManUre

OMG Shane Filan is in the audience.
I hope they let him in for free cos he has no money now and owes millions that he will never pay back.

    Luck Kennedy is very unsexy.

Why is Leatherface’s mom on the judging panel??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,322 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

Shocked iveta didn't get through, delighted for the wee dancer he is excellent.

Lucy Kennedy...absolutely awful, they can't have her back next year surely?

I try to like Lucy cos she seems genuinely nice but she’s just not a good fit for this show.

Lucy Kennedy is TV3's big star. As laughable as that may be.

    To quote my teenager; "Who?"

Louis made sure to get a mention to prop up their next tour...

Oh dear god - Sharon and Brandon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,322 ✭✭✭✭leahyl

Omg of all the wildcards they could have chosen - those two were not what I would have chosen, so disappointing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,373 ✭✭✭tonycascarino

Sharon & Brandon?? I despair. How in God's name are they or Sea of Change in ahead of someone with actual talent like Iveta? A choir with 1000's members is not a talent. Any parish in any county can produce a choir like them. Awful stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,322 ✭✭✭✭leahyl

I honestly can’t understand how the judges chose these two acts.....seems like a set up to be honest.

Very weird program. So 2 more acts get into the final and it wasn’t even on tv that they get through??

After watching BGT tonight it really shows how much IGT is not much above a seaside talent show.
Any decent act will just go over the water

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,373 ✭✭✭tonycascarino

Honestly, Ireland's Got Talent is only a glorified Scór na bPáistí/nÓg. As said, BGT is streets ahead of it. The two shows are not even comparable.

Both of these shows are terrible. And they have been going on for years now. The likes of Louis Walsh is laughing all the way to the bank.

And it seems that as long as there are big dance groups in the show, they get through just because of the sheer numbers they have voting for them, rather than actual talent.

Lucy is a lovely and likeable presenter but clearly uncomfortable in the heels and woeful pink suit.

The arm constantly across the stomach just pushes the lack of confidence in her job and she is clearly not comfortable with the contestants holding them etc.
Whole different ball game with Ant and Dec

I've seen one or two people suggesting the producers nobbled Iveta (for reasons unknown). Shoved her on early in the running order and then deliberately gave her poor camerawork and lots of long shots instead of close ups (a favoured tactic by producers everywhere)

Goodness knows why.....one of the mediocre / crappy dance acts are going to win the thing anyway and they wouldn't even need to nobble one of the favourites.
