At least lucy didn't waste the golden buzzer like that half wit attention seeking sap did last week.

Overall, it was entertaining and fun. It's a show for amateur performers and TV3 are paying for the format so yes it will have some sentimental backstories etc.

There's just something about that James Kavanagh guy that makes me want to shake the TV!

He did the taste of success a few years ago and made Banana bread. His brother is also Conor Mcgregor's trainer. He's also meant to be a snap chat influencer.

24 acts were chosen to take part in the live semi-finals.

There are only three semi finals : maybe two acts per night and two wildcards perhaps?

The emphasis has to be on "variety" though. They can't just put 24 singers through - it's supposed to be an all round talent / variety show.

I don't think that the guy who rapped about depression got through nor the comedian yesterday. I thought he deserved it more than the muppets.

My favourite is double impact [the young dancers] or the ballroom dancing group from Tallaght.

There were far too many dance groups on the show though . but my favourites are through to the lives.

The Tallaght dancing group have the potential to be huge vote getters. Should be interesting from now on.

I don't know why people post on this thread to just moan and whinge about the lack of talent, bad presenters, crap judges, etc. etc.

I've really enjoyed the show so far. Obviously some of the talent isn't up to the standard of the British version, because we have a much smaller population and it's the first year of the show. The production quality is great and I'm looking forward to seeing how it transitions into the live shows. I have to say, I only started watching because I'm a big fan of Michelle Visage from Ru Paul's drag race, but I'm glad that I got into it.

Did that rapper guy not make it? He was brilliant and would have deserved it.

The young girl singer (Cora I think) doing the musical theatre number should have gotten through as well. (I suppose though they were afraid of overloading the show with too many singers).

The rapper who sang about depression got a good buzzer from lucy. So I think he got through to the live final.
