But Trump clearly was delighted as probably was Miller's intention:

Jake Tapper of Fake News CNN just got destroyed in his interview with Stephen Miller of the Trump Administration. Watch the hatred and unfairness of this CNN flunky!

That's the spin they are going for. Gosh, this man-child proves again and again that he is just that.

Hosts really need their ducks in a row when interviewing such people because they are so militant in their support.
When Newsnight had someone on to talk about the book yesterday they opened by telling him not to bother with ranting at the BBC for being fake news and that they were just taking it as read that that was what he thought of them. Nearly managed to get a couple of answers to questions that were asked out of him but he ended up asking the BBC interviewer about her toothbrush.

They edited it into the programme very well, but it was clearly pre recorded so that they didn't have to broadcast his ranting live. He'd have barely been able to tell that it wasn't live due to the time difference from DC.

That was Sebastian Gorka.. a dubious ambitious individual with unquestionable loyalty to Trump.

And I agree, Miller looked very tired...

    Bad news
Trumps Fake News Awards have been postponed until Wednesday the 17th instead of tomorrow. They clashed with teatime for mr Fluffy and Tinkywinkie.

"He revolutionised reality TV?" Really? I mean the show is good and all, but a revolution? And nothing to do with the concept people or the writers/directors etc.?

I completely disagree, The Apprentice was a terrible show and it didn't revolutionize anything, prior to that there were a million other reality shows. Just because some idiots watched it, doesn't make it a good show! It was BS staged theatrics, most which was fake and as you stated, plenty of writers/directors behind it!

He was unceremoniously dumped once Kelly came on the scene.

But that doesn't appear to have prevented him from still singng Trumps praises from afar.

Don't think so, think it just shows that Bannon has no friends left. Once the Mercers dropped him, he's basically screwed. They can squeeze him out of Breitbart too.

He has no option but to crawl back to Trump..

If Manafort avoids conviction, he'll just head back overseas advising Tinpot dictators in far flung lands like he had been doing for decades before he got involved with Trump.

Just to add a bit more flavour to the story, Miller apparently was asked to leave after the interview and eventually had to be escorted out of CNN by security.

Miller looked like he was maybe two or three times the recommended dosage of Xanax in that interview.

The dry mouth leading to difficulty in articulation and seeming loss of sense of where he was in the final two minutes made him look very ill or over-medicated.

I watched that interview - Miller played it very well (I know I am in the minority here). He spoke as he normally does, which to be fair does sound like he was drugged. He intended to play the victim, detract from the questions where they were uncomfortable, support the one and only viewer he cared about (spot on by the anchor) and avoid saying anything illegal happened - exactly what he did. Trump 101 stuff.

I just can't wait for Trump to throw Miller under the bus and then claim that he was never an integral part of the team :D

You're right it was trump supporter on tv 101. That's to talk rubbish and not answer the questions being asked and to promote the fake news conspiracy and do it all while praising trump to the heavens.

He should have stated he'd hire a them to build his wall (before kicking them out but no need to advertise that part) instead; that might at least sound a bit sincere and get him a vote or two (work is work after all).

More a case of trying to avoid it..

President Donald Trump has repeatedly said he would testify under oath about possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential election. But now it looks like Trump’s lawyers are worried about a potential interview with special counsel Robert Mueller — and are seeking ways to avoid it.

NBC News reports that Trump’s attorneys are in initial talks with federal investigators about how a possible interview might take place. Trump’s lawyers have suggested the president could provide written answers to Mueller’s questions instead of sitting down face-to-face with Mueller’s team. They’ve also floated the idea of not having the president take part in the interview at all. The Washington Post also reports that a Trump-Mueller interview could take place within weeks.

But legal experts I spoke to doubt Mueller would settle for anything less than a sit-down with Trump. “I highly doubt that Mueller will accept written questions and answers,” Renato Mariotti, who served as a federal prosecutor from 2007 to 2016, told me in an interview. “Prosecutors are interested in a subject’s responses to detailed lines of questioning without the opportunity to have lawyers carefully craft their client’s answer.”

“Prosecutors are interested in a subject’s responses to detailed lines of questioning without the opportunity to have lawyers carefully craft their client’s answer.”

Would that be the same lawyer who was "carefully crafting" tweets for Trump a few weeks ago? Not sure that lawyer would be capable of doing anything to save Trump from getting caught out.

I see that a Trump appointed regulator (4 out of 5 were Trump appointed) have rejected the EPA's attempt to skew the energy market in favour of coal and nuclear.

EPA chief, who advanced the proposal stated after the binding decision, that
“as intended, my proposal initiated a national debate on the resiliency of our electric system.”

Maybe he just didn't mention clean coal enough!

Considering the latest "revelations" to come from the new book, specifically regarding Ivanka and Jared's political ambitions I thought it would be a relatively good time to re-quote a post I made 2 and a half months ago.
    Jamiekelly wrote: »
If anything I thought he might be grooming his daughter to be a potential candidate in the future. It would explain why he gave her such unrestricted access to the WH and sent her on what was essentially diplomatic roles to the EU. He is trying to get her some traction inside international political circles to learn the tricks of the trade. Also, when you take into account the number of jobs he gave her husband Kushner it would suggest they have their own political ambitions aside from just helping out dear old dad.

I think Trump was smart enough to see the hunger for a female president when he campaigned against Hillary and with her political career in tatters it would only make sense to try and shoehorn Ivanka in at a later date to capitalize on it.

Trump might be impulsive, irrational and outright inept at certain tasks relating to politics but he isn't completely clueless when it comes to spotting popular trends. He's proven that by winning the race and turning the narrative on a dime whenever he pleases.

Another of Trumps buddies is running for a senate seat.

    BBC News
Joe Arpaio, who was convicted of criminal contempt and later pardoned by Donald Trump, will run as a Republican to replace retiring Senator Jeff Flake.

The 85-year-old ex-Arizona sheriff was found guilty of violating a 2011 order to stop detaining migrants.

He is running to "support the agenda and policies of President Donald Trump", he said in a tweet on Tuesday.

"I have a lot to offer. I'm a big supporter of President Trump," Mr Arpaio told the Washington Examiner.

He was one of the earliest supporters of Mr Trump's candidacy and could have faced six months in jail if the president had not pardoned him in August.

Should he lose, it would be interesting to see Trump disown this guy as a loser given that he pardoned him.

Genuine question - Are there not age limits on running for office?

How is an 85 year old able to stand for 1st time election?

Not upper limits. Most be 35+ to be president, 30+ to be senator and 25+ to be representative.

Just finished “Fire & Fury” on the plane this morning. It’s been a fun read, and while it might not have bought new facts to light, it’s definitely given more insight into the main characters - Bannon, Ivanka, Jared etc. Ivanka & Jared are repeatedly painted as the family members who may end up sinking Trump, as a result of their dodgy dealings. The Bannon description elicits an odd sympathy even.

For me, it also underlines the public opinion that Trump is simply inept and mentally unfit for office. There are anecdotes of staff creating PowerPoints / visual aids with pictures of bombed out cities and children, simply because he can be cajoled in such a manner, as he is resistant to reading analysis and text.

What I don't get is why, armed with all of this intel, did the CIA/FBI etc not make a move on Trump prior to the election?

It seems totally against their brief to let such a potentially compromised person have access to the deepest secrets of the US?

Forgetting about Trump in particular, but would you expect the US to continue to give top level clearance to someone with such suspicions about links to Russia?

This seems like a massive failure on the part of the FBI/CIA. It seems to imply that the best way to get around any issues is to simply run for political office which will render the FBI/CIA impotent for fear of being seen to influence.

They moved on HC 7 days prior to the elections, I believe its one of the reasons she lost ...

Because they still didn't believe that she would lose and figured it was their only chance to get a dig in before she took office at which point they would have to play a bit more nicely. They were not bothered about Trump because he would still just be a private citizen they could take their time over.

I think it shows how much both the FBI and politics are influenced by each other. It was nauseating how each side side competing for the election shifted alternatively from praising the FBI to lambasting them as the investigation into Hillary's email was opened, closed, then opened, then closed again.

I think Comey was trying to be objective but that acting on this would have been seen as directly trying to select which president was elected unless it was cast iron proof. I'm not sure that proof was as clear then.

Another funny thing around it is if the FBI (or other intelligence service) had had genuine concerns and informed Obama before the election, it would have justified Trump being under surveillance and yet Trump was the one drawing attention to this by claiming Obama was wiretapping him.
