Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can someone explain the strategy behind Bannon having that recent "off the record" chat with the journalist please?

The same as the mooch, giving an interview which is profanity Landon or criticising trump is the safe word in the trump White House. It's a cry for help basically.

Bold move cotton, he annoyed Trump and his own readership with that one.

I know it's off topic, but Dodgeball reference? Excellent

So Bannon thought he was survive trump going by criticising him?

Its repoerted by the bbc that bannon agreed to leave today tqo weeks ago so the interview could have been him lashing out

Think he wanted to take the heat of Trump maybe and get the focus on him? Who knows, from all accounts an attention seeker to say the least and that is from people on the hard right.

Supposedly got a lot of targets does Bannon, Drudge, Murdoch, Mc Master to name just a few. Unclear what his plans with Trump are, whether to go to war with him or try to influence policy and him outside the white house.

Ah poor Steve. Hopefully mr miller and mr gorka aren't far behind. Also kellyanne Conway can't be that safe and she's gone very quiet lately.

Hah, she has, hasn't she! Interesting, that.

I don't think Gorka or Miller (or Hicks) will be out yet unless they choose to be. They might if they decide to show loyalty to Bannon, but I don't see it happening, tbh.

Conway though - anyone know offhand who her allies are, if allies she has? She was always a bit of a wild card too, but extraordinarily good at bare-faced lying.

With Bannon going, where does this leave Trump in relation to the plan his supporters bought into?

My understanding was that Bannon was the key strategist behind Trump.

It seems odd that such a key person would be removed? Or am I reading too much into his actual importance to Trump?

I think it's tipping point now.

This is the republicans telling trump to get into line.

He will either storm off or play ball.

Even if it's the latter it'll only be a matter of time before he puts his foot in his mouth bigly. If the numbers continue to drop he will be forced out

Jared & Ivanka are also coming under increasing pressure to take a stand in relation to Trumps statements on the KKK etc.

They are on holiday at the moment, apparently that means that have no ability to make a statement regarding racism and Trumps stance, but they will return to WH eventually and will be continually asked about it. Jared can get away with it, but brand Ivanka could be hit if she isn't seen to take a stand.

Ben Carson has also said nothing at all. Surely he cannot accept Trumps racist stance?

Trump is in real, real serious trouble. No support or respect from the federal security service's of the nation and now he'll have no support or respect from the right wing lunatic fringe element either. He won't last Halloween.

A recent poll indicates that 24% of Americans will stand by him no matter what. That was the percentage that responded that there was nothing (they could think of) that would make them turn against him.

That is... kinda at brainwashing level.

While yes, that was a rather horrifying moment, this article on it is worth a read. Particularly worth noting this bit; " 2016, for example, a pollster found that two-thirds of Democratic voters would trade an unconstitutional third term for Obama if it meant avoiding either Clinton or Bush."

It would appear that people do say a lot of silly things in polling, especially if the questions are leading or the responders are being primed in a certain direction.

I'm not absolutely certain Carson is paying attention. Ever. Presumably he does when doing surgery, but in terms of politics, the man seems to be on cloud 9.

Just saw there - Melania Trump is the Honorary Chairman of that agency that just upped sticks! I assume she didn't have a say in it?

Would be hilarious is she was one of the signatories.

I can't help feeling that Bannon's exit is stage managed, particularly given his interview during the week. That was just like providing plausibilty.

Taking a not so wild guess of not meeting forum standards due to being one liners without any discussion rather than laughing about alt right being the issue. It has come up over quite a few threads and times lately but only guessing as I'm not modding this forum.

    *edit*Quin already answered it above.

Sounds like foundation for a 2020 presidential campaign base as well... Possibly tie in with the claim that Trump is only 6 senators away from impeachment at the moment.

Romney bent the knee, pics like this dont go away, his career is finished:

Id say the next Republican candidate will be some straight up GI Joe character like Mad Dog, bet they all wish McCain was 10 years younger now. The list of non-repulsive individuals is extremely short for the GOP, Trump supporter types hate the likes of Ryan and everyone else these days, the Democrats arent much better, could be an opening for Sanders but again, he's ancient now, maybe it will be a relative unknown like Obama was or 2 female candidates.
