Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A teams likely fortunes might be transformed by a signing on deadline day but most people will have voted before then.

Chelsea are good enough already to get 90-odd points.

City and Utd will spend north of 200m each.

It's not even that they'll finish 1-2-3, but you won't see the other 3 in the top 6 taking the quantum leap forward in the market that would make them favourites.

You dont need to vote today. You can wait till Deadline Day incase Huddersfield sign Messi, Ronaldo, Donnarumma, Terry and Mbappe

Can see Liverpool struggling next season. They're squad isn't very impressive and I can't see them bringing in top quality players. Their league position last season flattered them if I'm honest. Wouldn't be surprised to see Spurs struggle either. I reckon City United and Chelsea will do well. United or City to win it.

Chelsea and the 2 Manchester clubs to make top 3 - went with Chelsea to retain and arsenal to make 4th ,,, to go down, Brighton, Huddersfield and Palace

Whoever voted for Burnely I would like to point out that's actually Burnley from the northwest - you might want to re-think your vote with that information.

Similarly Bourenmouth are actually from a south coast town not too far from Southampton.

Gav, where is Southampton in the poll?

Good. These betting companies are poison. I'd nearly rather fag companies sponsoring football than these scum.

Where do you draw the line on what is an what is not acceptable to accept advertising money from.

What's next to be banned, chocolate maybe or perhaps fizzy drinks.

Betting companies are no issue for people with an ounce of cop on.

Unfortunately large swathes of people don't seem to have an ounce of cop on. I never had a problem with betting, I'd place maybe one bet a year. However I go for a pint on a Saturday afternoon and it seems all the young fellas have to have a bet on every game to be able to enjoy it. That can easily develop into a problem. It's the same as drink is OK if you have cop on, even drugs are OK for people with cop on. Some people can't control themselves.

You might need a chill pill

    Alcohol is a drug
    Cannabis is a drug

Yea I'd suggest the majority of people say it's OK in moderation

You could do with a doobie yourself man. Yeah a lot of what's considered hard dangerous drugs are OK in moderation, not all of them though. It's not the forum for this debate so if you want to have it then start a thread and I'll happily discuss it with you.

    Seriously you're a ball breaker.

Fine, a lot of what's classified as class A drugs are fine in moderation. Coke and more specifically E are class A drugs and if they are not contaminated and taken by healthy people they are ok. I'm older now so don't partake anymore but I've been with literally hundreds of people taking these over the years and not one had an adverse effect once taken in moderation. Almost all of the problems with these drugs are as a result of prohibition. Scummy dealers cutting them with other crap, crime as a result of people having to use these scummy dealers. People dying from taking things that are simply not what they think they are because of scummy dealers.

Edit, and weed is perfectly OK too BTW.

That's my opinion. This isn't the forum for it so if a mod wants to delete this post then please feel free.

Benitez with his fortnightly threat to walk. I can see this becoming a regular feature during the summer and again in January:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4636068/Newcastle-boss-Benitez-leave-transfer-failures.html

I can understand his frustration at not landing targets, but the players mentioned have chosen better options for themselves. Caballero has gone to the Premier League champions, Mangala to Lyon who will be playing European football, Delph to Stoke who are a firmly established and solid Premier League side, while Abraham has done similar in going to Swansea who are also much closer to his home.

Newcastle are a newly promoted side who have been relegated twice in 9 seasons. I think he will have to accept that he is not going to be able to beat the likes of Chelsea or Lyon to signings, nor established Premier League clubs for the most part.

I do also wonder how long Ashley will put up with these public warning shots? Benitez knows the fans will back him 110% over Ashley any day of the week, but when has Ashley really cared about his reputation amongst Newcastle fans? I cannot see a character like Ashley putting up with this constantly.

Defoe gone to Bournemouth on a 3 year deal apparently. There was a few reports that they were offering him close to 100k a week.

Madness, although if he scores 10-15 goals and keeps them up, they'll see that as money well spent.

Begovic, Ake and Defoe, Bournemouth are getting very good deals done early. They were a suprise last year and clearly want to keep pushing.

After watching Southampton piss take video with Stuart Taylor I got thinking he was one of those players that once looked like a good prospect but never played much. Bit of a post Cech Carlo Cudicini and I was right. He's managed the grand total of 75 league games in 20 years (according to wiki). That's the equivalent of 18 seasons sat on his arse. Yeah he got well paid for it but surely that can't be a satisfactory career to look back on.

I take my hat off to him - basically after two decades no one knows if he is actually any good :pac:

Players will receive a retrospective 2 match suspension for diving in the PL this season.

Will be interesting to see how it is enforced.

Will be interesting to see how it is enforced.

It's a 3-man panel review similar to that of the of review dangerous tackles unpunished during the match or appeals against red cards from what I understand

For about two months and arse about foot I'd guess.

Have they properly defined diving? Just because there's no content does not means it's a dive. Players try to avoid a bad tackle are still being fouled if they get their foot out of the way.

They'll probably make a big deal out of it for the first few months and eventually it will tail off.

Does the 3 man panel have to reach a unanimous decision to have this ban apply?

I think for any ban to be considered you'd need a bad dive to be caught out, something like in the Celtic game last season, for example.
