Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's all a game pep is playing. He's walking this league and is trying to play it down and make like his resources aren't ridiculous.
Stevie is spot on how galling must that be for a local lad in the under 23 who is bursting his bollox to make that bench.

Aren't most of the best City academy players either on loan in Holland or Spain?
    Foden was injured too.
Bit rich to have a go at them not using their academy when damn all other clubs use them. Ironic yesterday as Everton were getting embarrassed at the Emirates one of their loanees scored a winning goal for RB Leipzig. Oxford at West Ham is in his second loan spell of the season to Gladbach.
Having a go at them for naming 6 subs is probably right but few teams use their academy anymore

    Spurs
Can't see Newcastle getting anything from the early game. Roy has been far more tactically shrewd with Palace since taken over than Rafa has been all season.

That is some level of deflection from Allardici in the post match interview. Blaming the players for everything and accepting no responsibility for what has to be one of the worst 1st half performances I've ever seen. The man is a complete and utter charlatan.

Typical Sam takes all the credit when they win and none of the blame when they lose.

Really? The Allardyce interview that I heard after the midweek game was full of praise for Coleman and Walcott.

That isn't really the point the poster is making. I think you know that. Sam revels in his ego and completely deflected blame yesterday. From team selection to how he completely underestimated Arsenal based on that one performance mid week and tried to replicate it, there were so many things HE got wrong yesterday (3 at the back !!!!) .

This tweet is BANG on the money

He'll be a decent pick up for someone in the summer.

Benteke has declined greatly since his days at Villa, seems to have lost pace. There was a time where he was as good if not better than Lukaku.

Benteke has been Newcastle's best defender.

Well they scramble a point but Newcastle will struggle to stay up playing at that level

Game v top six opponent at Anfield. Presume we will see a top class performance and win from Liverpool. I'll go for 3-1. Spurs win would be brilliant but they don't have enough in their locker. Proper race for the top four then. We'd have Spurs on 51 and Chelsea & Liverpool on 50.

Who do Sky have in the studio today?

Souness & Carra. Nice neutral pairing.

Carra I actually find a decent enough analyst.

The other lad though, sour doesn't even come close.

LFC win would be decent from United pov, should be a good game.

He is excellent to be fair. Ditto for Neville.

I'd be surprised if they don't win, given that it's at home.

Don't think they are strong enough to get the win today. They haven't been great on the road. 1-0, already.

Good start by Liverpool but you feel they need a second before they Lovren it up

John Moss is by far the best referee in the Premier league. He lets the play flow as much as possible and it heightens the excitement. It also prevents players whinging and diving because he doesn't whistle and they have to get up and get on with it.

All well and good to let a game flow for great viewing but he has made some truly terrible decisions in the past

I would nearly say he is one of the worst in the league

Well he's miles ahead of most of them if not all.
Dean and Clattenberg would have this game stopping and starting and there'd be no flow to it as it would be more about them than the teams playing.

    Spurs
Spurs are very Jekyll and Hyde this year. Lack of good creative centre mids in this league. You'd long for a Scholes or Xabi Alonso type player to control a match from deep.

Surely you are being sarcastic here!

A ref isn't there to entertain the public, he is there to officiate and get the decisions right, especially game changing ones, and Moss is reknowned as one of the most error prone refs over the years.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,046 ✭✭✭Berserker

How many chances do Spurs need to score? They deserve to be level on the balance of play.

Shocking dive. Could have had a shot on goal, if didn't dive.

    Man City
Should have been penalty to spurs there when alli went down. He slipped and played on and lovren handled. Terrible call saying he was diving he didn’t look for pen he played on.

Game made for Liverpool to score on the break.

    ?

He didn't look cos the ref blew immediately for a free out. He knew he was caught diving
