Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That kind of miss from Scott Dann is why FDB is getting sacked in the morning.

How many more games before De Boer gets the sack?

De Boer will pay the price but second half they have been very good. Between that shocking miss from Dann and the backpass goal, players have done it themselves today.

Palace players totally letting their manager down today. Insane how a guy in the job 4 games is likely to be sacked

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

That's the end of de Boer then.

Bilic won't be too far behind if they fail to beat Huddersfield tomorrow night.

Boy getting rid of Benteke for 30 million now looks like genius.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,937 ✭✭✭omega man

All the football played by palace. Feel sorry for FDB as the quality not there to translate that into goals/points.

The problem is that palace were actually the better team and should have had at least three or four goals but when things aren't going your way and a rot has set in, change is definitely needed. De Boer will be the first casualty and bilic and howe won't be far behind.

Why? Benteke cant be held accountable for a loss when Dann missed two chances
He will score between 15-20 goals
So no genius isnt the word i would use
Liverpool dont play to his strengths it made sense to sell him but genius is a massive oversell

Another team finding it very difficult to successfully transition from Allardyce.

That's a complement to Big Sam by the way. An excellent manager.

Worst dive of the season contender there, shocking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Merino will surely become the first victim of that new panel set up to look at restrospective dives?

If he doesn't get sanctioned for that then they might as well abanon it.

    Shocking dive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

    Liverpool
They can only retrospectively punish dives if the referee was deceived and rewarded it with a free or penalty.

He didn't buy it, so Merino is 100% grand.

From sounds of it on commentary it seemed that it only happens for penalties. Thought that was wrong.

Am I the only one thinking Sanches should be in trouble for that blatant kick in the balls

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Sanches looks extremely average today. Constantly giving the ball away.

Early days obviously, and he'll need to get up to speed, but he'll have to improve dramatically.

Sure what better way to start the season than four losses in a row with only one goal scored?

That's a red if Mane's was. Only difference was victim didn't lean head in as much as goalkeeper yesterday but just as reckless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

That's a stonewall red card and what's worse is the referee was right in front of it.

The direct , but successful in England , approach of the likes of Allardyce, Pullis and Dyche , is one of the reasons I believe the top teams struggle in Europe and the national team continually fails - Kinnear did it at wimbledon - its horrible to watch , but successful , shame that it causes a football man like deBoer to fail.

How many England players are with such managers at club level though? How often have Pulis/Dyche managed in Europe? Allardyce did it one season in the UEFA Cup I think.

Brilliant goal-saving block from Lascelles, then scores down at the other end.

Funny thing is he wouldn't even be playing if everyone was fit!

very few , but top teams have to adapt , and in a way bring there level down to the anti-football battle of Pullis and allardyce , in oder to beat them , think it holds them back from adopting a more progressive brand of football - just my thoughts for the continued failure of top level English football.

    Spurs
Swansea unfortunate in this game with the goal line clearance and Newcastle should have had a clear red with the dangerous high foot. Such fine lines in football, could be the difference between staying up or going down in the end. Poor refereeing decisions shouldn't still in this day and age have such a impact on a teams potential fate.

These players with England are brought up with the English way of thinking though
Which is Sam type coaches at under age hence why very few under age coaches progress to manager jobs

Some weekend for players getting kicked in the face, this one on Mounié from Reid in the West Ham game. It's unintentional and the referee is happy enough with just a freekick, but over three days there's been a red card, a yellow card and just a free kick for the exact same incident. Referees really don't know what they're at on this.

There is (1) careless, (2) reckless and (3)excessive force or dangerous. One is just a foul, one is a yellow and one is a red.

The one tonight caught him in the face which wasn't anything, Ritchie's caught him in the arm which was a yellow. Ritchie's should have been a red by the guidelines they go by, he had more time to be less out of control and he still was. They have made the problem for themselves with Mane's red imo.

Common sense has to come into this. Mane was sprinting and went in studs first at head height. That can do significant damage, its a red. The one tonight, he's standing and goes in with laces of boots, should have been a yellow. To call it the exact same incident is insanity and assuming coming from a liverpool fan.
