I think its a lovely bus in fairness. Hard for the driver to keep it between the lines though (a bit like Pogba’s passing in recent Champions League games) if he had to change direction suddenly.

It's hardly a secret, is it? If you have a go at us, and have the quality of player to do it properly (which Everton patently don't but Liverpool do), then you have a chance. The likes of Wolves (yes, really), Bristol City (moreso in the first leg), Palace, Burnley and Liverpool in that suicidal 15 minutes at Anfield just after HT prove that. If you sit back against us, we'll just grind you down.

Well not really, there is different aspects to having a go, I don’t think Liverpool use the width of the Front three enough to get in behind the full backs, though they will have a hell of a lot more pace to get in behind the CB than Everton did. Quick counter attacking football was always another way to beat a pep team. Of course it’s still no secret there either

That 2nd city goal was great and came from big Sam thinking he was a tactical genius which made it even sweeter. Very dissapointed he didn't give an interview on MOTD.

82% possession for City. Highest ever for an away team in a PL match apparently.

Oliver Holt stated today that with the vast amount of money man u have spent, Jose Mourinho should be embarrassed by how far they are behind man city.

In a league sense everyone in Europe should be embarrassed so. To do what they've done in the league this season is one of the greatest achievements in modern football and they can still break the 100pt barrier which is insane. Considering they've spent about 30% more than everyone including 'vast money' United and started off with a better team from when Jose started their position ahead of United is to be expected.

I don’t know what you should be more embarrassed by.

That you actually listened to Oliver Holt

    Or

That you actually posted his opinion to try instigate a debate

What City have done is show how poor the strength in depth there is in the league. Don't think any of the other top sides can be too proud of their own performances this year especially as they scramble to talk up an FA Cup win as an achievement.
I only watched MOTD but they were so far ahead of Everton on every single level I almost felt bad for Everton. Have also done well in Europe which will help the side in the long run.

One of the most irritating things about Internet forums: some old-school journo makes a commonplace observation and it's treatment like a pronouncement from on high. Politics.ie is a classic case of this: they affect to despise the 'mainstream media' yet hang on its every word...

But I think he achieved similar with Bayern only losing 1 league game one season but outside Germany no one was speaking of them as a dominant force because A: Bundesliga seen as a much inferior league to EPL and B: they usually got hammered by Spanish opposition in UCL. Difference this time is that their doing it in the most competitive league in Europe and they could go all the way in UCL but time will tell.

Eriksen seriously got lucky with a very speculative effort. Not many would have saved that, it just dipped below the bar.

Van Gaal got sacked for finishing fifth. To say it means nothing is laughable. I suspect if Liverpool get their hands on it in the next few years that opinion of yours will change.

He has a point. Champions league qualification over domestic cups for top 5-6 teams every day of the week for sure. Wenger has won 3 fa cups in last 5 years and arsenal fans been calling for his head for a while now.

It is because of his failures in the league which, naturally, is the primary concern over any given season, or should be, for a team of their status and history that have been the source of criticism.
The FA Cup is still an achievement, and his 3 in 5 victories is often overlooked in terms of achievement if you ask me. It isn't as if the other big teams are putting weak sides out in the latter stages.

Big win for Spurs, taking us 8 points clear of Chelsea.

So then 8 points plus goal difference between 4th and 5th place, that is surely the top four decided.

When a club's success is being measured, i.e. "So-and-so are the most successful club in whatever league" they don't take top 4 finishes into account. They measure silverware won - as they should.

If people want to say that the stock of the FA Cup has fallen from where it once was, that's a reasonable statement; to say it is a nothing trophy is nonsense. But not altogether surprising considering the diet of hype and bullsh*t that is fed to fans these days.

Fair point but it's probably also because other leagues not as competitive as EPL so getting champions league qualification not seen as "basically winning a trophy" as it is in England.

If we were to measure both Arsenals and Tottenham's success in last 3 seasons...which team has been more successful? If there was a poll I would guess Tottenham would come out on top.

For Allis first it was Eric dier. I would like to think now that the race for the top 4 is now over, with 8 points between 4th and 5th. Also the only potential dropped points now will be when united and spurs face city so even in the top 4 the current positions will not change either.
