Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oof, very unlucky goal from Huddersfield's point of view. Horrible deflection.

Joe Hart with a clean sheet sums up how abject a game that was.
At least the Champions League starts tomorrow

Some weekend for players getting kicked in the face, this one on Mounirom Reid in the West Ham game. It's unintentional and the referee is happy enough with just a freekick, but over three days there's been a red card, a yellow card and just a free kick for the exact same incident. Referees really don't know what they're at on this.

Exact same incident my arse. Get over it lads Mane was correctly sent off

It was his first clean sheet in over 20 league games. Sorry but 2017 hasn't been his year

Liverpool have had their appeal to reduce Mane's ban rejected by the FA. BBC are saying the 3 game suspension remains. However I thought if an appeal failed that an extra match ban was added to the suspension?

Only remember that happening to Rio Ferdinand years ago.

Only if the appeal is considered "frivolous" I believe.

Well when you have many top referee's saying it was a yellow, I'd disagree. Even though I agree with the punishment.

People tend to think the laws of the game are totally set in stone. The FIFA rule book is extremely vague and is totally open to interpretation of the ref, that's one of the reasons why there is such a variance in officiating.

I imagine Liverpool's approach would have been based in part on referee inconsistency, esp when one considers the Swansea v Newcastle incident. Seems fair enough.

It's not as if they were trying to rescind the whole red either - just get it knocked down to a one match ban

Happened to Michael Turner when at Sunderland a few years back too.

A harsh sending off for catching Gareth Barry with his elbow against Man City, Sunderland appealed and it was increased to a 4 game ban.

Strange one. I've never really see it happen since.

What does the green line and blue bar sliding along it mean?

Sorry for not seeing you question, it represents the percentage of home win, draw and away win given the xG.

    EqrtP7d.png

    ie
Stoke should win approx 25% of the time
The draw should occur approx 25%
United should win approx 50% of the time

This is what I find so infuriating about the whole thing, rules can be interpreted, you can understand that as the refs are just human but you'd think once appealed they'd have the cop on to say "it wasn't intentional, no need for a 3 game ban, here's the 1 game ban" but no, they just exasperate the situation.

What's the record for most managerial sackings in one season? Palace owners definitely have it on the locker to make a play for that honour. Will prob end back with Big Sam saving them last few months

Benteke again showing in that half why his misses cost managers jobs.

You want your £30m striker scoring those kind of chances 9 times out of 10 not the 1 time out of 10 Benteke does.

 Funny has he singly handily kept Villa managers in the job
Once again its sad your obsession with him
Goals scored last season 15 more than any Liverpool player

Villa was while back now, he's far less effective and it should be noted at Villa he went through streaky patches combined with droughts.

Once again; intent has nothing to do with the relevant law. The wording is something along the lines of "any tackle that endangers the safety of an opponent is to be treated as serious foul play".Can't remember if "reckless" is mentioned or not, but intent certainly isn't.

His stats last season were solid, Benteke is by far the best player at Palace
Not saying you as i generally enjoy you as a poster but some Liverpool fans have a obsession with him and how ye robbed Palace when in reality im sure they would happily pay that fee again for him
I think everyone knew when Liverpool signed him it wouldnt work, he isnt suited to the style at all but its sad the attempts to ridicule him

Will Hodgson get the sack if Crystal Palace lose the next 4 games? Probably not but at least you could say they were consistent if they did. It's ridiculous what happened with De Boer. Such stupidity deserves punishment.

If Roy can get Zaha back fit he should be able to do something with this Palace team.

Zaha is hands down Palaces best player without him they are blunt.

VVD for Tadic (who'll be leaving next summer)

If Palace do not score in the next few minutes, they will set an all time top flight record for not scoring at the start of the season.

Typical decent Long performance from what I seen in the second half. Scrapped for everything, brought the team up the pitch, didn't actually create anything. I don't think either team had as much as a half decent chance in the second half.

Interesting stuff about Huddersfield and hardly a progressive move - they are winding their academy down to a minimum level. Seems very short-sighted on the face of it.
