Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That looked a great save at first. Head on though the shot came way to much in to the middle, handy one.

Edit. 5-2. Not Shane Long though.

Not great games to sit down and watch on Sky today. This Spurs game has been one sided. Coming up later Liverpool at home against the team who are dead last.

Was hoping for something competitive to look at today.

Tbf Liverpool are normally worth a watch. They never do things easy.

Harry is probably the most complete English player I've seen in the Premier league. Dont think there's been an English player before that you could say would be a definite starter for every side in the world at their time.

Triple captained Kane in my FF this week :P

    Scholes.

He was battling in same era as Xavi and Pirlo. Everyone had their favourite but it's not clear cut who was the best. I said definite starter, he wouldn't have been for those sides.

Always thought Kane would be a one season wonder when he came through.

Never have I been so wrong about football.

    Great goal scorer

Yea, was thinking that the other day alright, has had these 'illnesses' and 'strains' around this time of year a few times before, which is unfortunate.
Kane is some animal alright. Probably gets overlooked sometimes as he's sometimes not too easy on the eye: his game is based around hard work and graft, and he doesn't go in for fancy hair styles and fancy boots and marketing campaigns and Emojis like some other, which may ultimately prevent him from becoming the 150million euro man that his stats would suggest he should.

Nice free kick to put Burnley 2 up at OT.

Watford have been well and truly found out of late. Silva needs to alter his approach sharpish or their freefall will continue

Zlatan subbed off at half time that's going to hurt his ego.

Looked like he may have hurt himself late in the first half.

Even if he didn't it was the right call.

You'd expect United to come back and win that today.

Didn't see the goal but heard it was nice, Lingard def surprise package this season, really developed himself.

Its a good thing he's an avid reader of board's soccer forum. Solid turnaround since I gave him a few home truths.

Thought that had equaliser all over it. Mikhitariyan who should be off leans into the Burnley player and gets him booked.

Hard to see them holding out though.

Pep will walk award with all the manager awards this season.

Sean Dyche really is the one for me no matter what happens to Burnley for the rest of the season with the budget and player he has to work with he is the manager of the season hands down.

I knew Burnley wouldn't have the bottle to see the result out. United let out of jail once again.

Madley with another risible performance today, by all accounts. The Hammers bent over the kitchen table and royally shafted by him today. How does he keep getting the gig? Does he have something incriminating on someone on the corridors of power?

I wouldn't say it's anything to do with bottle. It was a great performance to get a draw just the pressure told.

Unfortunately, they're only there when Couts puts a few in the crowd. They're never there to see any of his goals it seems. ;)

Was hoping for an enjoyable evening game but I can't see Swansea making much of it now that they are behind. Expect Liverpool to pick them off on the break and win this 3-0 or more. Can't see Swansea avoiding the drop this season.

Handy win. Swansea didn't offer a huge amount 2nd half.

Fully expect this Liverpool side to go on a run now. Some battle for top 4 now. Utd probably look the weakest right now but things can change.

By the simple fact that they scored 46 and conceded 23?

Second best goals scored and sixth best goals conceded.

Chelsea have a GD of 20, Spurs 19 and United 27 so not really a massive difference in any of those.

Also GD doesn't matter unless you finish joint at the end of the season.

Just seen a few things online and Jose looks to be getting his 3rd season meltdown tantrums half way through the 2nd season.

Doesn't bode well but TBH it's pointless because City will romp away with it no matter Jose or the rest of them say or moan about it.

Just thought it'd be higher considering they score 40 goals every 10 games or so ha!

Chelsea's output is dreadful, if the defence wasn't so good it'd be even worse.

The standard of football in the EPL and Championship games i've seen this season has been pretty poor. It has probably been getting worse for the past 10 plus years. City this season has been the exception.

Of those 23 goals Liverpool conceded, 15 goals have come in four games. Watford, City, Arsenal and Spurs. So 8 conceded in the other 16 games I think. Cut out the games where they lose the head and the GC doesn't look so bad.

Oh dear, when I thought it couldn't get worse for Jose after saying the £300m wasn't enough he comes out with this beauty:
"When you talk about responsability to win the PL, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea don't have this responsability. We have it, because of the history of this club"

They have responsibility because they have spent 300m since he's arrived...

City are a laughing at the rest of the "chasing" pack.

Its not a bad attempt from Chelsea and Utd, any other year they'd be right up there neck and neck but City have blown away the competition so far making the points dropped by both in recent weeks looking pretty pathetic.

The size of City's lead is having a psychological effect I think. The rest are dropping points they wouldn't normally drop because they know the league is gone. Battling for top 4 positions just isn't as motivational for the big boys.

Isn't as motivational? Aside from Chelsea. United/Arsenal haven't won a title in years. Liverpool have been in contention once in recent years as have Spurs. They should be used to it.

Well; I'm not laughing at the "chasing pack", I know that much. Way too early in the season for that. There's no medals handed out on New Year's Day. However; I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't win the thing from the very good position we find ourselves in. If we can maintain the lead as it is now, or even increase it, up to the game at Anfield next month (where we usually get the square root of f** all), then we can afford the hit there. Going back to your original point, I can't speak for the club, obviously. But I would doubt that Pep will allow any complacency to creep in when we're only halfway through the season. We need to keep our foot to the floor, as your lot and Liverpool still represent a threat to us. Plus, we still have to go to Anfield, the Emirates and Wembley.

You're comparing United to Arsenal? Second place is considered failure by United, and rightly so.
