Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was being praised as a genius around these parts after the initial results bump.

He seems convinced the boards have long term faith in him which might be worrying for Everton fans.

WTF is he meant to do with the squad? A hape of midfielders is all Koeman signed this summer, most of his defence is crocked and he just signed Tosun to try to score goals.

    Liverpool
1 shot on target in 3 games for Sam. They haven't had a shot on target against spurs,Chelsea or utd in recent weeks.

    Man City
Rooney should be off the ref bottled his second blatant yellow IMO

Could well be gone in the summer if Everton have sense.

    Liverpool
It will be some amount of zeros after the 2 Madrid will have to put on that check for Harry Kane in the summer.

Disappointed that they weren’t in a relegation fight when he took over, he is dragging them into one so that he can save them on the last day of the season, as per his speciality.

Everton have just relaxed after Big Sam worked another miracle to guarantee safety after a few matches. They'll pick up more points if and when necessary.

Aye take Koeman back then. His non hoofball worked so well at Goodison.

Yeah wouldn't want to carry on the way they did when he came in, or they'd end up qualifying for the Europa League. And nobody wants that...

Eh, if I remember correctly they were in 16th and 2 points above the relegation zone when he was announced as manager. They're in a slump but they're still in 9th.

Like it or not, Sam will still get Premier League jobs because he simply won't get his teams relegated.

He suggested Big Sam take over from Mourinho. Mourinho is the manager of Man Utd. Why would they need a second?

Relax - but seriously, do you think the old trafford faithful would welcome Big Sam as a replacement IF Jose did leave ??

No. But can you not see any difference between the clubs to be making the comparison?

Well thats correct I guess. Another difference you didnt notice is one competes in the Champions League, the other was in a relegation battle or maybe scraping into Europa. But yes, best for you to go now. Until you can celebrate Evertons next defeat as being "proof" that Big Sam is awful.

Just saw it on MOTD, shocking call alright. Linesman should have seen it though surely.

Anyone else notice the lads on Motd tonight really really plugging VAR? Wonder what the story with that is?

I know they tested it out in the arsenal Chelsea game recently but the guys seem to be going a bit OTT on it tonight. Just seems strange as they've never really mentioned it at length on motd before where as the average punter has been talking about VAR for years.

    Liverpool
With VAR does the clock stop?

Does 30 seconds get added like for a sub for every VAR check?

Does the fourth official keep track how long of time is wasted or not wasted depending on the outcome of VAR?

Or is it considered part of the 90 minutes?

Stop the clock and have no extra time simple really.

Very noticeable last night alright. Every incident framed around 'if we had VAR' etc etc.

Of course (and bbc might be slightly different than the others), tv companies will welcome the break in the game once or twice a half to look at the Various (Sponsored by whoever...) and rack up the tension, provide a bit of drama in a scoreless midweek game between WBA and Stoke.

Maybe they think correct decisions are preferable to incorrect decisions...

Surely they've always though this though? Last night was noticeable for the sheer number of times it was brought up - even the reporters were asking all managers and players about it after the games. Something seems to have happened recently which suggests that the TV companies (of which BBC are one) are forcing the issue - I'm thinking extra sponsorship revenue while the game's stopped etc.

They were only asking those involved in the controversial incidents from what I saw. The Doucoure incident in particular was blatant. Perfect timing for their VAR agenda ;)

This Bournemouth arsenal game is tripe.

Bournemouth spending over £80m since being promoted and still having Cook, Francis, Smith and Daniels in their defence is criminal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,869 ✭✭✭✭Loafing Oaf

What's this thing about putting the ball on the outer edge for the line for a corner?

Did spend about 30 on ake and begovic though.

    Bournemouth equaliser

Just looked at the goal again. Cech with the mistake

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

    Ibe. How humiliating.
Cech was very, very poor for that too.

Cracking 1st l goal for Bournemouth

Jaysus that was bad by Cech for 2nd!

  • Everton
Might sound hyperbolic but Arsenal as a team and a club falling apart
Wenger at the helm has it all ****ed up for a long time now and steadily getting worse

What's wrong with it? No point putting it on the line if it's sitting down a bit and inside is a bit close to the flag

    Spurs
Get Simeone in and bring a bit of fecking passion back into the club. It's like a slow rot currently.

    I've said that last year
That would be some coup imo but cannot see it happening
Issues right through the board, pun intended

Wenger's been spoofing and bluffing his way through the Arsenal job for the best part of a decade now. I don't even know what he's attempting to do anymore at the club.

    Liverpool
Cech like with both Liverpool's keepers are a couple of levels below what the other top 6 teams have and over the season cost both clubs a considerable amount of points.

Oh right, just thought it was about "gaining every last inch" taken to an absurd extreme...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

    Neither does he.

You're right though. His transfer policy is ridiculous. The football they play isn't even that great, it's nothing at all like it was when Wenger was in his prime at the club. It's just a club going nowhere fast.

It's sad to see the state of Arsenal these days. That fist 11 is really not top 4 material.
