Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Liverpool
For all their good play and general outplaying of Utd all over the park, Spurs have been absolutely septic in front of goal tonight.

It should be 4 or 5-0.

The game at Anfield at the weekend should be fascinating. Hopefully Liverpool don't ruin it by repeatedly booting it into their own net this time.

Fernandinho and Phillips should have seen red tonight.

    And McLean.

Cherries are 4th in the last 6 form league. Pretty good for a team that were in crisis before Christmas. They could have panicked and sacked Eddie Howe but maybe they are a bit more clever than that. Even Jordan Ibe is starting to make a regular contribution.

I didn't see a close up of it, but to be fair to McLean he could have followed through and took the opponent (was it Silva?) out of it, but quite obviously pulled out of the challenge when he was out of control. I thought the commentary was OTT, you'd have thought he tried to kill him.

Yeah, it was a yellow and nothing more. Didn't think that the commentator went OTT though. It was a rash tackle and an obvious attempt to take the player out.

I thought it was OTT to be honest. Like I say, I haven't seen a replay of it, but it looked like McLean pulled out of the tackle, was cynical but if he wanted to hurt the player he could have.

McLean gets a bad rap at times. He's no angel, but fair is fair on the lad.

Why have City named 6 subs?

Agree with Neville about City 6 subs.

    Really poor from Pep.

When Pep was asked he said 'because we don't have anymore'

Ruled out the option of taking one from the second team as they played yesterday.

    Stupid really.

So its a poor mouth stunt. Thought someone went down in the warm up.

    Pep is gas.

    "I can't field any more".

You've the most expensive youth complex in England.
    There are options.
    You're not poor.

Fair play to him if the board buy it, but good Christ.

I wouldn’t mind but Burnley are without 7 players to Cities 6.. it’s a poor excuse, promote a player ffs

    Liverpool
That's pathetic by pep. Try operate under the constraints dyche has had to. Sell your best defender in the summer and promote from within.

Nmecha isn't fit, academy played yesterday and they already have two youths on the bench. Massive overreaction again. Why name a player just for the sake of filling in the spot? Experience with the firsts? Any City youth with a chance of breaking into the team will already have been up and down with the firsts already. Diaz, Tosin, Foden, Nmecha. Pretty pointless naming a player when there's not a sliver of a chance he'll play a part.

It was a belting strike. Well on top here, but we need to capitalise. Get another goal or two.

PSML at Pep trying to play the "we can't even field a full squad".

They have £50m+ players in every position. Their backups would make most teams starting squads.

If your second squad played yesterday, promote someone from the u18's, the u17's.

Literally the world's smallest microscopic violin playing for him right now.

Naming a youth player even to sit on the bench is a good experience.

There's the idea of one having to earn your place on the bench too which is far more important. Doesn't make any sense to put a player on the bench if he's not even training with the first team.

Maybe they should be training with the first team if things are so bad.

Gundogans final ball today has been crap.

Sterling with miss of the season, lol

Christ Raz, how did you miss that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,180 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Hilarious miss from Sterling from point blank range, open goal. As bad you'll ever see. Not good for my Fantasy Football team though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,925 ✭✭✭pudzey101

    Man Utd
Ederson is one of the most calm and collected keepers iv seen in along time . alot of keepers just hoof it when under pressure , he picks a simple pass .

    Gwan Burnley!

    Walker dozing there.

I think they deserve it despite Sterling's shocking miss minutes earlier.

Burnley deserving of a goal although Aguero and Sterling should be on the scoresheet. If City have one fault it's not being clinical enough.

  • Everton
    Enjoyable result for Burnley

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

2 points chucked away there. But well done to Burnley for not throwing in the towel.

Fair play Burnley. Boxing well above their weight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

    Liverpool
Best 2 managers in the league so far this season. Dyche with a brave selection 2 up top and not afraid to press city high up the pitch.

It's a big flaw. The last action is often very poor by them. Against better sides when chances are rarer you have be far more clinical.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

All sides that create lots of chances are almost by definition "wasteful" - if they all went in City (and Liverpool) would be winning 4-0/(4-3) on average. Real life is just not like that.

Agreed. We don't score nearly enough, considering the chances we create andthe possession we enjoy.

Sterling is having a great season but that miss was hilariously bad to put city 2 up.
