Are there any that you'd recommend?
I only ever get crime and murder mystery recommendations and I've searched for something decent in the comedy section but I never seem to find anything good.

I've listened to Mortified and found some a but funny, mostly just alright though.
Modern Love podcast by the NYTimes is real life stories that were printed in their paper for years being read aloud. They're all on the topic of some aspect of relationships. It's a mixed bag in terms of quality, some are very thought provoking though.

Dubland podcast might be worth a try.

Bill Burr's Monday Morning podcast, he also now does a 2nd shorter one on Thursday.

It's usually just him rambling away, lots of clips/shows on YouTube so you can get a feel for him.

I think he is one of the greats.

    This gives you the gist:

"Beef and Dairy Network" is great. It's a spoof podcast in the style of radio show dedicated to those who are involved (or just interested) in the production of beef animals and dairy herds.

"Stop Podcasting Yourself" is two Canadian comedians/broadcasters sitting down with a guest each week and just having fun. "Jordan, Jesse, Go!" is a similar scenario except two Americans are hosting.

"Fistshark Marketing" is an improv comedy podcast where two people pretend to be marketing executives and throw out crazy schemes for their clients and products.

"Judge John Hodgman" is a podcast set up like a courtroom. People present their cases (usually silly things like one friend wanting another to stop using pretentious pronunciation or something) and the host makes a decision.

"Friday Night Comedy" is a weekly podcast from BBC Radio 4, usually The News Quiz or The Now Show.

"The Comedy Button" is 4-5 people just hanging out chatting sh*te for an hour or two. This might be hard to get into at first, hence why I'm putting this last, but I highly recommend it.

My dad wrote a porno is the big pile of sh*te iv ever listened to. But humour is obviously subjective!

It's funny for a couple of episodes but gets old very fast.

NPR's Car Talk or Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me.

    A Prairie Home Companion.

Car Talk is a very impressive podcast tbh. When I first discovered it, it took me 4 or 5 months to learn it wasn't just a podcast of their weekly show. It's so well produced and has really, really funny moments.

This is the weirdest podcast description I've ever heard. I have to listen to this.

Never listened to the podcast, tbh. The show used to be on WBUR around 10-11pm Irish time on Sundays. Not sure if it still is. It was their style that appealed. They waxed lyrical about life and mocked callers without being asshats.

    https://itunes.apple.com/ie/podcast/russell-brand-on-radio-x-podcast/id1222440767?mt=2

Russell Brand does a podcast with longtime associate Matt Morgan. Was brilliant in the old BBC2 days. The latest podcasts are on Absolute Radio. They are good. Matt is excellent at keeping Brand in check most of the time when Russell prattles on about highminded nonsense.

Matt Morgan is one of the funniest men in the U.K. In his own right even though he is not well known

Norm Macdonald back on July 25th

His old podcasts are still gold.

Beef and Dairy Network is one of the few comedy podcasts that I actually enjoy!

I think podcasting as a medium for comedy tends to encourage loud obnoxious types who love the sound of their own - usually American - voice. I know that's completely an issue of taste, but I personally can't stand to listen to 99% of comedy pods for longer than about five minutes without wanting to strangle the host(s).

Beef and Diary Network though: Ah I love BDN! It's just such a ridiculously niche concept for a show and I love their commitment to going all the way out with the joke as far as possible. I also love its tone; it's completely ludicrous but at the same time it's so dry about it that you sometimes could almost be fooled into thinking that you are listening to something real. And its moments like when you realise that just for a splitsecond there you were seriously entertaining the thought of astrocows in space that bring the most joy!

Weekly broadcast of 'Best of Car Talk' to stop in Sept of this year.

The podcasts are going to continue though

You should give Fistshark Marketing a try if you haven't already. It's in a similar vain to BDN in that it's presented in such a dry manner yet is utterly ludicrous.
They basically present it as if it's a meeting between executives at a marketing firm, coming up with ridiculous schemes each week.
