Love this late kick off time, it's very like La Liga with it's 9 or 10pm starts.

To be fair there are an abnormal amount of children at the match tonight due to the pricing structure of the tickets, so having Koln fans with flares beside you might be disconcerting.

Nail, head. Koeman needs to find a way past the failure to purchase a decent striker. Looking like a crowd taken from a local pub currently.

I'm very interested to see Everton vs Lyon. Everton are badly in need of a boost and a poor result will increase the pressure on Koeman. Lyon have been exciting to watch but defensively they are very suspect. Their last three games in Ligue 1 have ended 3-2, 3-3 and 3-3. I think that could be the game of the evening. Looking forward in particular to seeing how Fekir and Mariano Diaz get on.

Nice vs Lazio could be another good one and I'm sure Balotelli will be eager to impress against Italian opposition. Nice are in very poor form though while Lazio are doing very well so I'd fancy the away side to get the win there.

Östersund 2-1 up against Bilbao, and on the verge of qualifying for the knockout stages.
After getting promoted to the Swedish top league last year...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Lazio beat Nice 3-1 away after Balotelli had given Nice the lead. Dante was very poor for all the Lazio goals.

Shame Mariano Diaz isn't available for the Everton game. Team news:
Everton XI: Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Williams, Martina; Schneirderlin, Davies, Klaasen; Mirallas, Vlasic, Calvert-Lewin.

Lyon XI: Lopes; Marcal, Diakhaby, Marcelo, Tete; Aouar, Tousart; Depay, Fekir, Traore; Maolida.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Penalty to Lyon!

    And Fekir scores!

Update: Lyon go in at the break leading 1-0. They are worthy of the lead and have had the better chances. Fekir is causing lots of problems in attack. Depay had a deflected free-kick hit the crossbar and missed a good chance when clear on goal. Traore has done well down the wing. Tete has impressed at right-back too.

Davies has probably been Everton's best player. Mirallas has been good at times too. Everton overall though look very toothless in attack.

It all kicked off there. Williams pushes the goalkeeper Lopes to the ground. There's a big scuffle down near the fans and some of the fans start throwing punches at the players!

Actually having seen the replay it was more like slaps from the fans than punches but UEFA will not be happy with that.

One of them was holding a small child while getting involved. Crazy.

Everton very close to taking the lead. Lyon not as good since Fekir was subbed.

Full-Time and Lyon win 2-1. Lyon you'd have to say were deserving winners and it could have been even more humiliating for Everton as they should have been down to ten men, while Lyon spurned plenty of chances.

Fekir was excellent before his substitution and Aouar and Tousart (19 and 20 respectively) won the midfield battle. I thought Depay was disappointing. Traore had some good moments and some poor moments but his goal was very good.

It's hard to find any positives for Everton with the exception of Pickford. I think Koeman will do very well to be Everton manager going into November.

Teams for Lyon and Everton are in which kicks off at 6 pm.
Lyon XI: Lopes, Rafael, Marcelo, Diakhaby, Mendy, Tousart, Ndombele, Cornet, Fekir, Memphis, Traore.

Everton XI: Pickford, Kenny, Williams, Holgate, Martina, Schneiderlin, Baningime, Gueye, Lennon, Sigurdsson, Lookman.

Disappointed Mariano Diaz is on the bench for Lyon but I expect he'll feature at some point. Looking forward to seeing Fekir again as he's in great form and deservedly got called up to the French squad earlier.

That Everton team looks pretty poor to me. Lookman leading the line?

I expect there to be a bit of bad blood between these sides after the game in Goodison. Hopefully there's plenty more drama.

Looks like Everton's Martina is in a bad way after an awkward fall. He's going to be stretchered off. Long delay as they have to be careful with his neck.
