    Outlook 2016?

Good luck with it, using it for 6 months now and it still annoys the **** out of me.

United 1-0 down. Looked offside to me.

Edit: I didn't see Blind off the pitch. TV3 saying that means it wasn't offside. I'm not sure on the rule tbh so I'll take their word for it.

Did not see it but remember there was some incident in some Euros between Netherlands and Italy were the same thing happened with the defender off the pitch behind the goal line the play was still onside and goal given.

Only if Blind was off the pitch with permission by the ref for treatment is he considered inactive, if he is off the pitch on his own he is considered still in active play therefore playing everyone onside

The most famous off side goal that wasnt
Euro2008, Holland - italy, Van Nistelrooij's goal looked 45 meters off side but wasnt.

Roma top the group, no one would've predicted that when the draw was made.

Monaco, atleti and dortmund all crashing out at the first round aswell as besiktas making easy work of their group I doubt many would have guessed these outcomes. Also read benfica have performed the worst ever in the group stage as first seeds ever apparently.

Most interesting group stages in a while. New seedings rules shaking things up.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

How is the Dortmund coach still in his job?

An absolute implosion in form in last 2 months. Has failed to change the keeper after a number of shocking errors and the organisation of the defensive side of things has been abysmal.

    haha
watching the napoli - feynoord match on a swedish channel.
they have this cool feature where when a goal is scored in another match the word 'PLING' appears under the clock then a countdown 3...2...1 before they reveal the score.
    how considerate :)

Worrying news for Napoli. They're drawing 1-1 with Feyenoord and City are losing 2-0 to Shakhtar.

Napoli need to win and Shakhtar to lose to progress to the next round.

City have a peno. 91 minutes played. Too late.

    Aguero scores.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,735 ✭✭✭Vincent Vega

2-1 Feyenoord. Thanks though, Aguero :pac:

Feyenoord have gone 2-1 up. Napoli definitely out now and into the Europa League.

There will be a lot of fans of unseeded teams wanting Besiktas but they've shown they are no mugs. Didn't lose a single game and they've won 2-1 away to Leipzig despite the fact they were already guaranteed to win the group before the match, while Leipzig needed to win to keep alive their hopes.

Themselves, Monaco, & Benfica with 0 wins between the 3 of them.
Napoli & Atletico were very disappointing in the group stage too.

Finishing second looks almost a better scenario than first when you see potential ties with bayern, real or juventus on the cards!

No top seeds won their groups, with 2 going out at the group stage. That new seeding system has mixed things up

Surprisingly spurs set a new record for the most points in the group stage, only two points dropped from 18.

Afik we beat arsenal record going back to their fantastic team of 07 .

    Funny ould game

Might as well put a few €€€ on Barca - Chelsea for the last 16

    Educate me about those odds.

Chelsea can meet 1 of 3 teams, so why aren't the odds 33.33% each?
Why are they more likely to meet Barca?

Because Barca can't play Real, Sevilla or Juve and Chelsea can't play Roma, Liverpool, Man Utd, Man City or Spurs so they are both limited on who they can play

Took about 10 years but finally UEFA has done something about players taking a deliberate booking in order to start "clean" in the knock out stages.
Carvejal got another 1 match ban and will miss the first leg of the 1st knock out round.

Pretty sure it wont be long before cards are wiped after the group stages.

Reminder that the draw for the last 16 takes place tomorrow morning at 11. RTE will show it on their website. Eurosport 2 is also listed as airing it.

It looks like there could be a few potentially massive clashes. Chelsea could meet Barcelona who they've had some great duels with over the years. Spurs and Harry Kane might find themselves having to unlock the Juventus defence and get the better of Buffon. PSG's manager Unai Emery could find himself facing former team Sevilla. Pep Guardiola could wind up taking his City team to take on Madrid, and no doubt that ribbon in support of Catalan independence would go down a treat there! Klopp could find himself back in Germany to take on Bayern. Jose Mourinho could find his United team up against promising young Porto coach Sergio Conceicao in what could feel like a case of deja vu for him. Could it be his young countryman racing down the Old Trafford touchline in celebration?

Or none of the above could happen.

What matches would you like to see?

They just showed the Sevilla fans celebrating instead of the Liverpool fans on the Liverpool montage at the start here *facepalm.gif*

Would love Barca to get Porto or Basel. Not England again.

Would like Basel and Shakhtar to avoid England too. PSG v Madrid would be nice...

Poor draw for Real & Barca. Chelsea have a chance to knock out Barca.

Bye bye Spurs, Juventus have looked impenetrable as of late. Watching them recently is like watching a lesson on how to defend as a unit.

    Don't agree.

50/50 tie I would slightly favour Shaktar.

They finished ahead of Napoli who are a better side than Roma.

Shakthar impressed me more than Napoli did when they both played Feyenoord
Their huge winterbreak used to be a big problem for them though. Basically no competitive football for them till the CL KO
