Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Imagine if there was no diving in the Champion's League? Imagine if it was just football instead.

Really enjoying the Chelsea game. The last 16 this season probably has the most quality fixtures ever in one season.

    Barca there for the taking.

Big whoop! He's hit the outside of both posts. They're not shots on target and would have been undeserved.

    random post.....................

I think it is a huge talking point and very unlucky for a player to hit the post TWICE in the first half against Barcelona in a Champions League knockout game, and they were two fine efforts also.

Chelsea are doing well. Willian has been the game's most influential player. Also won a free-kick in a dangerous area that got Rakitic booked.

Chelsea probably deserve to be ahead. Neither side have had clear cut chances. Very much evenly balanced. Huge effort by both sides.

Paulinho had best chance of the half early on, should have scored.

Also how would they have been undeserved if they went in, which would hav meant they were on target..........

Strange tactics by Chelsea, do they think they are going to Barcelona to win. Tonight is their chance and all they are doing is sitting deep.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Lewandowski doing a Willian and hitting the post.

Coman makes it 2-0 shortly after. Besiktas in big trouble.

Messi has been very poor so far.. not half the player he used to be..

Poor from Barcelona. They should know by now Willian always wants it on his right foot. They were warned.

No english lads playing for chelsea tonight. Not sure if that was mentioned already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

Chelsea should go for the jugular now , for all Barca possession no real threat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

3-0 Bayern. Muller with his second.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,309 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

That goal might wake Barcelona up, they have been rubbish tonight.
Only one goal in last five away champions league games, not good enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Rezident

Amazing that not one player marked Willian - even after he'd hit the post twice! Nobody even near him, they just don't have a defensive mentality, they can't do it.

And Busquets - surely the most overrated "defensive" midfielder in history - I've never seen him block a shot in his life - he'd be afraid of getting hurt.

    Worst Barcelona side in years.

I think 1 more for Chelsea would make it a very interesting 2nd leg. Barcelona are well capable of overturning a 2 goal deficit, especially at home, but putting past 3 against a Chelsea side that just needs to defend wouldn't be easy.

    1 - 0 wouldn't be enough imo

Edit: Just as I say that, Barca score.

Be a great result for Chelsea if they keep Barca out now. Would be confident in them getting enough chances in the return leg to grab an away goal.

Thays been said before though and they won the champions league after that.

His first goal against Chelsea in 9 games. Had a feeling he'd nab it at last tonight alright.

The absolute state of Willian. You'd swear he'd been hit with a rock the way he's moping about.

And has otherwise been poor, are you really denying that?

He has been finding space and getting on the ball all game. One chance and in the net. What do you want from him?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

4th for Bayern joining City & Liverpool in the quarters.

And has otherwise been poor, are you really denying that?

Have a biscuit or something to cheer yourself up.

    Worst Barcelona side in years.

You basing that on a random 70 mins of football tonight or them being on track for the highest la liga points total in history?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

4-0 Bayern. Lewandowski. Probably tie over.

He was moping because he got asked to get off and sort out his nose, but he wants to just keep playing....

Iniesta and messi can still shift up a few gears when they like. Delighted
