Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They are more likely to be kept apart by probability than fate, or any grand conspiracy.

It's garbage thinking - its not as if any of the 4 possible finals would be bad matchups for TV, fans, or sponsors. It's one team from each of the Big 4 leagues after all.
A fix isn't beyond them given the right circumstances, but they'll save it for when the semi final lineup is Real, Bayern, Slavia Prague and CSKA.

Ramos not suspended either, when he should be.

The stars are aligning for Madrid....they come in threes! :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

There was enough conspiracy nonsense posted when Madrid were given a stonewall penalty without people now starting into the "draw is fixed" scenarios.

i don't know about others, but I'm genuinely kinda joking mate.

i'm not superstitious, but i just don't believe they'll draw each other.

I expect that & Real to be at home in the second leg. :pac:

    Doubt it.

They faced each other in the semi twice since 2014.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

Bayern/Real is actually the most common matchup in the history of the competition, yet they have never met in the final. Real have met German sides twice in the final, those being Leverkusen and Frankfurt.

Some pub quiz trivia there folks.

I wanna see Roma get Liverpool, those 2 clubs haven't faced each other in Europe for years.

But you do understand that if they don't draw each other, it will be mostly down to mathematics and probability, nothing else.

So don't be coming on here with your "I told you so" if they don't meet, cos the law of probability says they won't.

    Okay!

    I'm personally expecting:

    Roma vs Real Madrid
    Liverpool vs Bayern Munich

So the Chief draw paired against the supposed weakest team with second leg at home; and in the other contest the bigger of the two with the second leg at home

    TINFOIL HAT!!

i understand maths. thanks for your concern.

I think Bayern would be the worst opponents for Liverpool. I'll predict:

    Liverpool vs Roma
    Bayern vs Real

    I predict:

    Real Roma
    Pool Munich

    or

    Real Pool
    Munich Roma

    or

    Real Munich
    Pool Roma

Shades of Moyes by the sounds. None of their other options are available though, they pricked around too long with Tuchel and pissed him off so he's either PSG or Arsenal bound, Nagelsmann's stock has fallen a bit and he's happy to stick around at Hoffenheim, same story with Favre, Klopp is out of the question. They want a german speaker as well so those are pretty much the options.

For both sides, as Roma will be thinking the same having drawn Liverpool.

Because sweeping statements like this have been so successful this past week.

If Roma can stay in the tie after the first leg, theyve got a good chance of getting some joy given how well they've done at home in europe so far.

I'd have more Roma players in a combined 11 but Liverpool have Salah and Klopp which definitely puts the tie in their favour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,406 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

    It's Roma's dream draw too.

Absolutely! They'll be delighted to be facing Liverpool with the second leg in Rome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,057 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    The 2 'dream' finals were

    Arsenal v Atletico
    Real v Munich

I bet you UEFA cheat and keep them apart in the semi's!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Chelsea thought Roma would be a doddle too. Stylistically I don't think this game will be easy for Liverpool.

Cannot wait for the atmosphere at both legs of Liverpool vs Roma.
2nd leg will be another example of Olympic stadiums lacking atmosphere being utter bullsh!t

Its good when they bother going but it's more than half empty for most games.
