Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fancy Bayern to reach the final, the one team that nobody seems to be talking about.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Bayern have Robben, James, Muller, Ribery & Lewandowski all playing from the start. If it goes bad it could be really bad.

Surprised no Thiago or Tolisso in Bayern's starting XI. They'll need a big game from James against Madrid's midfield as I can see Kroos bossing this.

Just can't see past Real for this tie. No amount of training can really prepare Bayern for the step up in quality they're going to face... it's the negative side of being in such a poor league - especially this year. And the negative side of an easy draw up till now. They've simply not been tested anywhere near the highest level (aside from PSG in the groups, who they were thoroughly beaten by away)

Uefa probably injured Robben to get Madrid thru!

The sound is ahead of the picture on RTE.

Anybody else finding the commentary a couple of seconds ahead of the picture on RTE2?

Amazing how RTE have never fixed this. Happens all the time with them.

Completely different game from last night's.

Very cagey, each team sussing each other out cos they are well matched. Unlike last night.

Last night was much like this at this stage too. These games always take 20 or 25 minutes to open up.

Liverpool started dominating last night from about 25 minutes.

Its unacceptable in this day and age.

Would watch on BT, but the picture quality is rubbish .

Neuer injured with a broken foot since September, will do well to make it back in time for the World Cup. Don’t know about Alaba, some sort of injury I’m guessing.

RTE are geniunely a joke for this sort of thing. This has been going on for years and years where the commentary is either ahead or behind the pictures. We're eighteen years into the 21st century and RTE still can't match picture with sound.

That's because their technical department is intentionally lazy as f***.

    Some goal from Kimmich!

He did Navas with the eyes.

    Terrible goalkeeping .

Think Real might be buying a new keeper this Summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,502 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

I was screaming for him to slide it towards Ribery but he goes and does that. Quality finish but atrocious goalkeeping, they’ll be looking forward to De Gea arriving in the summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,180 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

The keeper was distracted by listening to the laggy commentary on RTE2. ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,037 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Ooof - fluke? Looks like Kimmich slipped a little as he was striking the ball and sliced it a bit.
Keeper still should have had it.

Important timing as Real were really starting to assert themselves and dominate.

    Nothing quality about that.

Boateng is crocked now, bit of an injury crisis for Bayern all of a sudden. That’s four guaranteed starters all injured now if he has to come off.

Chelsea be needing a new goalie this summer

All going wrong for Bayern despite being a goal up, forced into 2 subs 30 minutes in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Boating and Robben both going off is going to be pivotal to this tie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Utd fans should be worried after that goal.

Bayern have been very unlucky with the injuries. 2 subs used in half an hour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,502 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Boateng off now, Süle is definitely not a bad replacement to have though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,949 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Madrid seem a bit shaken up, Bayern could do with getting a goal or two more before Madrid find their feet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,225 ✭✭✭charolais0153

Ribery has to be doing better. 1 on 1 and he ****s it up. 2-0 and there cruising

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,180 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Booger Eater spotted in the crowd. Or as he's known by his nickname, Joachim Löw. :D
