Petrol Hover Mower

Anybody ever used one? My house was built on a hill and there is a steep slope behind it held back by stone gabions. I reckon a petrol hover mower might be useful to keep it in check and to try and keep the wilderness tame.

Are they any use on steepish slopes?

Before health and safety I saw a person cutting a 30 degree slope with a petrol hover flymo on a rope slope was 5m long or more, no chance of being allowed do it now but he did a great job and saved a load of time because he just walked along the top and pulled the mower with the rope.

Yeah, did the petrol flymo with a length of rope attached thing to cut a sttep bank that a pedestrian mower could not do.

Very simple once you get the hang of it.

They are ok on a rope but otherwise a nightmare as they have no direction & fall down the slope. The essential for any slope mower is that it's either two stroke or has an oil pump designed for slopes.

I used to use cricket boots with spikes & people were amazed how I could easily stand on a slope.
