Walrus faced **** will be on the prowl again soon. He should be electronically tagged made and have his phone and online activity monitored.

    Can people not :
    A. Supervise their young teenagers phone activity?
    And
    B. Reassure their kids on a regular basis that no, it’s not normal for Chloe’s dad to text you or message you or Snapchat or in any other way either.
Or any other adult outside of our own immediate family. And if someone in our own immediate family is being creepy then that’s wrong too. It’s not acceptable.
Not under any circumstances, never ever and you must come straight to me and I will deal with it immediately?
Is that too much to ask of parents?

Kids are taught that in school in 5th or 6th class

Will he back writing for the paper of record upon his release?

Imagine he will live a fairly normal life, as part of his denial. Doubt the young girl doesn't suffer daily with scars.

He won’t though. He won’t be hired for any thing anywhere by anyone. He’s poison to employers.
So he’s going to be on SW, he was an extremely well paid journalist enjoying all that comes with it.
He’s lost his wife and kids.
    He’s got no home.
People are going to be pointing and whispering every time he’s out in public because he was very well known.
    None of that is normal.

5 minutes of a civic class when your 11 is no good.
Parents now have to mount a never ending campaign to prevent the kids ending up sending pictures of their private parts to sick creeps.
    It’s really not difficult.
    That’s the parents job anyway.

Seems he learnt Spanish while in jail...off somewhere Spanish speaking where he will probably be able to ply his trade. Whatever else about him, he had writing talents.

Let's be clear Tom owns this 100%.

The reports of the case mentioned that he was aware of her vulnerability, which, reading between the lines, suggests that there may have been family problems of which he was aware. Hence parental supervision may have been somewhat sub-optimal.

That said, I agree with what you wrote.

Just saying. He has a talent he can market in an environment where people won't know his history.

His long-running love of the Dubs and hatred of rugger are unlikely to be marketable assets in the Hispanic world! ;)

Environmental influences. Doubt he will have any problem adapting. He was a talented writer.

He really was an excellent writer, there's no denying it. Pity about the rest of him.

If he had of done the sex offenders reform course that was offered to him in prison he might at least of showed that he was taking some responsibility.

No newspaper would employ him, here or in Spain. Its not a good look for newspapers to be employing paedophiles whilst also reporting on child sex abuse. He could still write sports under a pen name and by using an intermediary though if found out he'd be dropped. At best I'd say he'll be an english teacher somewhere in Spain or South America

Would need to be a school with no vetting or easy to circumvent vetting.

Or perhaps he could apply for a job writing Press Releases for Sinn Fein.

His unique expertise might appeal to some of the ageing head honchos! :D

The world of Spanish speakers is much bigger than Spain. He seems to have a plan anyhow.

I think, having read him over the years, that Tom's politics would have him closer to the two main parties.

If he can write fiction, then he can self publish. Here we are giving career advice to the fecker.
Electronic tagging should be mandatory on conviction if their is any likelyhood of re-offending, for the safety of children.

What's your point. Excuse to get a dig at the GAA. Has Rugby Ireland commented on the current x rugby coach case. No.

ya all don't realise this is the only one he got caught for, the only one that could be proven.
    there were other cases.

what galls me is some people have long suspected and didn't tell other people, even on the sly, even to let people know there were suspicisions, and then he would not have been voted to coach this underage team at county level. because they were undecided given his unorthodox coaching, no pun intended. hang your heads in shame o club in north dublin.

i'm too close to this case to make any comments, but i believe there were failings from a few people, even when he was arrested, that such a high profile figure could not have done anything. and he would have sued etc. he was a boll**k.

yeah, the policies are there and everyone knows you should not be alone in a car with a coach, but he picked the right person who had little parental cop on and the rest is history. he didn't try it on with the rest of the girls in the team.

    Is this not contradictory?

No, I presume he knew girls that were not part of the team. You're conclusion is false.

my point was he purposely picked and groomed an easy target.
    people like him do that.
    he's done it before.
picks the children that he thinks he can get away it.

Nah. Like most IT journos he's a middle-class socialist. A slightly more intelligent version of Eoin O'Broin!

John Mc Clean, 73, ex Terenure College teacher and rugby coach who was facing forty three allegations of sexual assault on four boys at the school during the 1970's and 80's. He has now been sent forward for trial on these charges. He was also director of rugby at U.C.D during the 1990's so was fairly prominent and well known in rugby circles.
