Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The rules on abuse apply to more than just boards users, and cover players/managers/fans/clubs/sports personalities as well. You may consider certain terms to be a bit of banter, but any nickname or phrase that is even vaguely derogatory may be considered as abuse for the purpose of the charter.

Calling a team Manure, Liverpoo, Chelski, redsh1te, bluesh1te, the Scum, the Hun, SEVCO (for the purpose of winding up Rangers fans) or any other variant is abuse.

Nicknames like whisky nose, fat Spanish waiter, Fat Sam, Fat Frank, Maureen, and similar is abuse.

Calling Andy Gray or Pat Dolan names is abuse.

This list is not intended to be exhaustive, but it is common for users to misinterpret this rule and assume that language like the above is OK. Please think carefully before posting anything like the above.

However, emotional language is not in itself a problem. It is ok to deliver a point passionately, to swear if you so choose, though you can make a point solidly without having to call people / teams / etc names.

The mod team reserve the right to apply their judgement as to a users intent when posting, and issue bans and/or infractions for abuse as neccesary.

Hope that ban includes " St Totteringham's Day"

As was spouted about last couple of years in Soccer Forum with no cards or bans applied

This is the Spurs forum/thread. The world has jumped the shark if the word spammer is offensive. I couldn't care less what fans of other teams call us in their own thread.

Sadly not! You might get a bwin stream.

Think Kane had a goal dissaloed for for offside, we need to finish this game off asap

Surprising line out tonight. Could seriously backfire. Can't see that midfield getting much of the ball, and it's a big ask for Winks against the likes of Modric and Isco.

Lloris (C), Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Aurier, Sissoko, Dier, Winks, Eriksen, Kane, Llorente.

Stupid tackle to give away the peno.

    1-1

Aurier needs to learn from this.

Looking at Replay Peno should have NOT been awarded, Aurier didn't touch him

Yeah, needless tackle. Understandable, but he seems to have a bit of a reckless streak. Needs to calm that down. I don't see us being able to hold on for another 45 mins, but we're giving it a decent go.

I'd have taken 1-1 at half time before kick off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,368 ✭✭✭MonkieSocks

I like the two up front approach, might form a good partnership :)

We are really missing Dembele today.

Some save from Lloris there. Real looking very dangerous now.

    What a save Lloris

Sissoko is exhausted at this stage of the game

Bring on Son for Llorente. Inject some pace into our attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,368 ✭✭✭MonkieSocks

I would swap Son fro Sissoko.

Llorente is good at holding the ball up and is needed to defend corners and attack our corners

Huge point for Spurs there. 6 points ahead of Dortmund now.

Spurs set themselves up defensively, and did that very well. Extremely well organized. Kane and Eriksen didn't have the best games, but the rest were very good. Lloris had some superb saves, as did Navas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

    And Dortmund only drew.

    A Good Night

    Loved the Arry/Llorente partnership.

Perfect way to play when opposition play three at the back

Would I be right in thinking that (barring 2 major hammerings in the return legs against Real and Dortmund) a win against APOEL will have us through to the knockouts after this evenings results?

Max Dortmund can get to is now 10 points and they have a -4 GD

If Dortmund beat us 2-0 and finish level on points with us we're out. It's head to head in cl I'm pretty sure

Llorente had a great game tonight as did Sanchez. And I was bemoaning lack of signings not long ago... quality better than quantity

To me it was a bonus along with the point that I didn't think either Kane or Eriksen showed what they are really capable of and Alli was missing. People will be sitting up at the result but on closer analysis, man for man, you would be looking at the defences for a better Spurs player. I actually think Eriksen would improve that Real side but not on last night's performance. He does everything Kroos does with a dead ball but offers way more in open play.

Modric might be getting in his way though, what a player!! The Spurs scouting team have picked up some real gems in the last few years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,042 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Modric has probably been Madrid's best player of the last few years but of course its the likes of Bale and Ron who get the plaudits.

But Luka is knocking on, and I am sure Madrid are trying to source a replacement for the near future.

I think Kane would be a perfect fit for the Bernabeu. He would get a sackful there. If he had some of the chances Benzema had last night he would have had a hattrick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,722 ✭✭✭golfball37

I've been following Spurs 35 years and Modric is the best player I've seen in a Spurs shirt in that time.

Christ i love it when we play like this. Brilliant stuff.
