one thing I always wanted to find out is this

when a band decides ok were going out on tour, does the band sit down and write out a list of places they want to play in and there tour management will organsie it for them or is it there management company who send out an email to promoters all over the world stating 'Xxx is going on tour make your bid and it's the case of what promoter is offering the most €€€€ and not the location or venue ??

I’m not in the industry. But from following gigs and stuff, I know that big labels will circulate a price list of the artists under their management that festivals can consult. I think that when an artist is on tour, they will partner with a promoter in each country which will arrange venues, advertising, etc. In Ireland, MCD and Aiken are the two big promoter fish.

Beyoncé and Jay Z are going on tour. Few US dates have been announced and a date in Italy is rumoured so looks like Europe will be part of it.

Aviva would the same size as some of those venues, would have sold out in seconds here!

Very surprised they haven't included a show here. Wonder if they are going to add second slots at some of the UK shows when they sell out and just opted to cut down on the travel cost?

An extra London show or something, for example.

Shame it is only half the original line up, still have fond memories of the Ambassador show in 2007.

True would love if they got the original line up for this tour but i seen them 2 years ago at Pukkelpop and they sounded great. I remember seeing them for the first time at Oxegen 06 or 07 and they blew me away.

Would love if they had a one or two indie bands from that era as support

Fairly scathing article from NME on the why the tour is worthless without the original line-up...

NME is worthless. I daresay the current Bloc Party line-up bares more resemblance to its 2005 self than NME does.

Is it still the lead guitar player from silent alarm? Silent Alarm had loads of great tracks with the two boys combining guitar bits to great effect. It's one of my favourite albums so I have to go to this. Saw them in Whelan's a long time back and a couple of times at festivals since, always a great show.

Olympia would be a more suitable venue ,the 3arena is way too big .
