this was good at EP last year (with just random music/DJs), hope it's back again this year.

Watched the video but is the soundome just a big speaker?

Well if you've watched the video, I can't add anything more.

Its more about movement of the sound than the volume

Just wondering if the event is a stage show or more like a Dj in a club.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,539 ✭✭✭ghostdancer

more like a DJ, as there's no stage and no-one playing instruments, it's just a playback of the album through the specially designed 46-speaker soundsystem. you probably won't see anyone at all, other than other people in there listening to it.

I love Alt-J but f**king hell 55 quid seems unbelievably excessive.

Gig tickets in general have gone up this year. Factor in the smaller venue (their last few gigs here were the Trinity Concert series, 3Arena and Longitude as the Saturday headliners weren't they?) and it's not a surprise, even if it is a disappointment.

Yeah, in the Olympia €55 has replaced €35 as the standard, and in the 3 €69 has replaced €49. Shame cause I buy most of my tickets on the day so I just don't buy pints, which will inevitably lead to a higher ticket price if more people do that......

Brian Fallon back again, played the Olympia a few months ago.

Not sure if they ever actually sold out or if they were just unavailable on the app but interpol tickets are on sale at the moment for the Monday night. Only on the website, not the app. Anyone know why they would be available on one but not the other?

EDIT: They're up on the app now.

This happened recently with David Byrne as well as Adam Buxton tickets too. No idea why.

Mac Demarco announced he'll play in Dublin on October 28th back in May , but the venue still hasn't been announced , I've heard he could play the Sunday of Metropolis , anyone else hear anything? Quite anxious to get tickets as it'll sell out quickly I'd imagine.

The current North American leg of the tour wraps up in March next year, if it was to be announced it could be a good wait before they come over, it would be 10 years since the last time they played in Dublin as well.
