Anyone know if there is a network screen saver available, or if this is even possibal

something like a bouncing ball, that bounces about for a few seconds then disappears and appears on another idle computer and bounces there for a while

Huh? I don't understand ..... You want all PCs on a network to use the same screensaver?

Don't know that one exists, but it'd be possible.
Screensavers are just a simple application in windows.
The client computers probably shouldn't talk to each other, and many security products will prevent it, but they could sync against a shared web service or server service.

Might make more sense to have the server create a grid layout of all the screens. share it with each client + the starting conditions of ball(s) direction /speed, and have all the clients run the simulation, only displaying the ball(s) when their allocated section has one or more in their part of the grid. More CPU time, less network traffic.

You can do this with group policy in Windows server, assuming they are all connected to a domain controller.

OP isn't asking just to deploy the same screensaver application to all devices. He's asking for the motion on the screensavers on nearby machines to be co-ordinated.
