Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi guys,

    I recently graduated from Science in Trinity but unfortunately didn't get the desired 2.1. I came out with a 2.2 due to pure lack of interest in the degree and I feel accountancy will be much better for me.

    I was wondering if anyone had any advice from where to go now? I have applied for a PDA in DIT and Griffith and have had an interview for a grad programme with one of the big 4 but I am pretty doubtful about getting a place due to my final year mark.

    On top of that, most Masters in business/accountancy require a previous business degree so that's a no go.

    If it's Accountancy you're interested in, you have a ton of options. After years in Engineering, I went with the CPA.

    I passed the Formation 1 exams and now I am working full time in practice. Granted, the wages are less than half of what I made in Software Development, but that's to be expected as a trainee. When I complete all the exams, I may go on to do a level 8 honors in Applied Accounting.

    You could always look into Accounting Technicians Ireland and other bodies such as the CAI and the ACCA.
